Today, I received my first payment of child support from my estranged husband: $50 and a note that said he wouldn't be paying any more. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, after years of waiting, my mom and I finally received a check from Child Support Services. Excited, I opened it up to find a check from my dad, written out for 45 cents. Which pays for maybe half a loaf of bread. FML
Bled dry
Today, my ex-husband stopped paying his child support so when I phoned to threaten him with lawyers, he didn’t care. Apparently, he lost his job months ago and has been paying me out of his savings, but now he has absolutely nothing left I can take away from him. Now I feel bad. FML
Today, my newly ex-fiancé, the father of my 5-year-old child, moved out of state with no warning. I just spent my last $500 paying off his car, and the rent is due tomorrow. FML
Give it back
Today, I was super excited to receive a large inheritance, maybe put it towards a house and a vacation. To my horror, the entire 40k went to my child support arrears. My psycho ex is the one who wanted those three kids, not me. FML
Today, my husband told me "The only reason I stay with you is because it's cheaper than paying child support." FML

Today, my husband got paid. I checked our bank account and was shocked to see we'd only received $300. I called him, insisting that there was some mistake. He said he'd started a new bank account in his name so he could manage our money on his own, and the $300 was my "allowance". I now want a divorce. FML
Yeah, **** the poor
Today, I discovered my deadbeat ex-husband will not have to pay child support anymore, because while he sat on CERB the entire pandemic, I was an essential worker, and will be punished for having had an actual income. FML
Today, my ex showed up to pick up our kids in her brand new car. Last month child support doubled my amount because of a paperwork error. FML
Today, we got the bill from our lawyer. She'd recommended taking my common-law wife's ex-husband to court for child support, so we went to court and won. The judge awarded us over $8300! The bill came to $18,000. FML
Breach of contract
Today, my husband was served child support paperwork by the couple he insisted on donating his sperm to. When I tried to warn him beforehand, he said I was being a jealous, paranoid, control freak and that it was his decision to help out some friends. We’re already struggling financially. Thanks babe. Take that note to court and let your lawyer annihilate him. The only way he will escape garnishment is if he plans to be a day laborer until he dies.

Sue the dumbass, get the required amount raised to higher than you'd originally agreed on with him, and if he doesn't pay have the cops harass him, they can take a away his license and remove the owed money from his paycheck before he ever sees a cent

Lol well he's stupid... you can take him to court, and he gave you a note that basically PROVES he's in the wrong. Lmao.

Question: How do you know she had no intention of staying with him? How do you know it wasn't the HUSBAND who just up and left? How do you know that she wants a free ride, and doesn't actually need help paying for her (AND HIS) child? CHILDREN ARE EXPENSIVE! Why should she have to "win his heart back" when the child is HIS as well as HERS? He should man up and PAY for the child that HE helped to create. Why is it that when a woman gets pregnant it's automatically HER fault and so she should have to take full responsibility? It takes two people to make a baby. As far as I was aware, asking for a man to pay for half of what it requires to care for a child isn't a free ride. Actually, HE'S the one wanting a free ride. He wants to get off free from having to see to the needs of a child that HE fathered.

Ugh. My idiot ex did the same thing, except it was literally a dime. Shitheads. Good think I'm going to see him in court for it in April. ;)
