Today, I received my first payment of child support from my estranged husband: $50 and a note that said he wouldn't be paying any more. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, after years of waiting, my mom and I finally received a check from Child Support Services. Excited, I opened it up to find a check from my dad, written out for 45 cents. Which pays for maybe half a loaf of bread. FML
Bled dry
Today, my ex-husband stopped paying his child support so when I phoned to threaten him with lawyers, he didn’t care. Apparently, he lost his job months ago and has been paying me out of his savings, but now he has absolutely nothing left I can take away from him. Now I feel bad. FML
Today, my newly ex-fiancé, the father of my 5-year-old child, moved out of state with no warning. I just spent my last $500 paying off his car, and the rent is due tomorrow. FML
Give it back
Today, I was super excited to receive a large inheritance, maybe put it towards a house and a vacation. To my horror, the entire 40k went to my child support arrears. My psycho ex is the one who wanted those three kids, not me. FML
Today, my husband told me "The only reason I stay with you is because it's cheaper than paying child support." FML

Today, my husband got paid. I checked our bank account and was shocked to see we'd only received $300. I called him, insisting that there was some mistake. He said he'd started a new bank account in his name so he could manage our money on his own, and the $300 was my "allowance". I now want a divorce. FML
Yeah, **** the poor
Today, I discovered my deadbeat ex-husband will not have to pay child support anymore, because while he sat on CERB the entire pandemic, I was an essential worker, and will be punished for having had an actual income. FML
Today, my ex showed up to pick up our kids in her brand new car. Last month child support doubled my amount because of a paperwork error. FML
Today, we got the bill from our lawyer. She'd recommended taking my common-law wife's ex-husband to court for child support, so we went to court and won. The judge awarded us over $8300! The bill came to $18,000. FML
Breach of contract
Today, my husband was served child support paperwork by the couple he insisted on donating his sperm to. When I tried to warn him beforehand, he said I was being a jealous, paranoid, control freak and that it was his decision to help out some friends. We’re already struggling financially. Thanks babe. Wow. Lots to say. As the child of another douche for a father, yes, even if he completely refuses to pay, there is a process to have his wages garnished, to use the proper terminology. Unfortunately, it's an extremely long process that usually takes years (postponing court dates, waiting for the government to get their ass in gear, etc.) and if the child comes of age before the father pays the back child support he owes, it is then up to the child to sue him for it, taking another long wait for years. Depends on your situation if it's even worth it. Unfortunately in my situation, I need the money... Also, how do you guys know if they'd still married or not? They're estranged, not separated. I'm estranged from my father and cousins and most of my family. It's a term that means not in contact with

my mom's child support from my father was taken directly from his paycheck. he never even saw the money. unfortunately, I have a twin as well, so the money he paid didn't cover much.

That's what you get for getting pregnant and keeping it. If you can't afford it, don't have it or get rid of it, and those little ******* can be damn expensive.
