Today, I was pretending to be a veteran for the US Navy at a local outlet, because I was desperate for cheap stuff. All was going well, until an actual vet pointed out that the ship I had on my naval hat was a fictitious one. Shit. FML

Today, I have been waiting for a call from a job I applied for. I soon got a text from my current boss, who doesn't know I'm job hunting, letting me know that the recruiter was trying to reach me. It turns out that the phone number on my resumé was wrong. FML

Today, I got a call about a job interview, saying I was hired. I was ecstatic, until they called me back and said they'd called the wrong applicant. They called again later, saying there'd been a mistake and I really was hired. When I went in to confirm it, they said they'd never heard of me. FML

Today, a coworker told me something I didn't realize was confidential, until later when my boss called me, saying someone may have shared something confidential with me, and me, not thinking so, said I don't think anyone did. We hung up, they called back and elaborated, and it dawned on me now they think I'm a liar. FML

Great reference
Today, after I'd asked my brother be my reference for a job, he made up some story about a 9-month contract, then the work was done so they told me not to come anymore. My potential new boss told me how big of a liar I was and how it cost me the job. FML

Today, I got fired from my dream job. I found out today that the girl who trained me lied and taught me how to do things wrong, so that when she got back from maternity leave, she could get me fired and take her job back. My new coworkers were in on her plan from the beginning. FML

Contrary to popular belief, recruiters don’t get bonuses based off of contracts. The most they can get is an award at the end of the year.

Of course they lied, that’s their job. I was lied too by my Navy recruiter, but I did have fun while in.

Lol I'm actually in the navy and did research rather then to rely on my recruiter. My recruiter didn't lie to me though, she was actually pretty ******* honest. Maybe use your brain next time so that you won't just follow blindly into something.

I was duped back in 1998... nothing new, they will lie to get you to sign your life away. In hindsight, even though I despised the lie, it is a learning experience and helped me grow as in individual.

A recruiter is effectively just a salesperson for the armed forces, of course they're going to hype things up and leave out all the nitty-gritty bits.
