Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Thank you for your service
Today, I was pretending to be a veteran for the US Navy at a local outlet, because I was desperate for cheap stuff. All was going well, until an actual vet pointed out that the ship I had on my naval hat was a fictitious one. Shit. FML
Today, I got a letter from the Navy saying that they accepted my application to join the Navy. I never applied. FML
Busted
Today, I have been waiting for a call from a job I applied for. I soon got a text from my current boss, who doesn't know I'm job hunting, letting me know that the recruiter was trying to reach me. It turns out that the phone number on my resumé was wrong. FML
Coming or going
Today, I got a call about a job interview, saying I was hired. I was ecstatic, until they called me back and said they'd called the wrong applicant. They called again later, saying there'd been a mistake and I really was hired. When I went in to confirm it, they said they'd never heard of me. FML
NDA FML
Today, a coworker told me something I didn't realize was confidential, until later when my boss called me, saying someone may have shared something confidential with me, and me, not thinking so, said I don't think anyone did. We hung up, they called back and elaborated, and it dawned on me now they think I'm a liar. FML
You wish!
Today, on my first day of a new factory job, I discovered that my new boss had lied to me about my hours. I found this out when my coworkers burst out laughing when I mentioned having the weekends off, and talking about my recreational plans. FML
Corporate hell
Today, I found out I didn't get the promotion I applied for. Then I was told I was the only one who applied for the job. FML
Today, I got a new job and told everyone about it. A few hours later, I got an email from the executive saying I actually don't have the job anymore. FML
Great reference
Today, after I'd asked my brother be my reference for a job, he made up some story about a 9-month contract, then the work was done so they told me not to come anymore. My potential new boss told me how big of a liar I was and how it cost me the job. FML
Today, I got fired from my dream job. I found out today that the girl who trained me lied and taught me how to do things wrong, so that when she got back from maternity leave, she could get me fired and take her job back. My new coworkers were in on her plan from the beginning. FML

3 years later I ran into my recruiter while running. We laugh at the lies, I knew it was too good to be true.

You mean it's all about training and hard work for strict discipline like rest of the military, and little to no time for playing video games late into the night, even sitting down to play D&D and even card games, no time to watch a full movie in one sitting, and no time to sleep in as late as you want? BLASPHEMY! /insert heavy sarcasm in the entire comment

What would make you think having someone tell you when to sleep, shit, shave, and shower in really small quarters would be fun? It will be worth it in the end though. Thank you for giving up your freedom so we can keep ours.

Rule #1 of the military. RECRUITERS LIE.
