Today, I overheard my parents talking about my husband. Apparently, they think he's a nice guy and all, but they don't really see him as "husband material." They think I would have been better off with my ex, who doesn't have a job and hurt me both physically and mentally. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I overheard my in-laws talking about me. It started off with light insults and ended with, "People like her are the reason murder ain't always wrong". FML
To be fair and balanced…
Today, I found out my husband is still friends with someone who talks a lot of crap about me. FML
What did she do now?
Today, I found out that my husband, who I've just separated from, and my mother, who I don't speak to because she's crazy, have been bitching about me behind my back. FML
Today, I overheard my boyfriend talking to his mom about me. It sounded like they were planning something for me, like a marriage. They were planning how to break up with me. FML
Keeping up with the Joneses
Today, I met my ex from the college, and he invited me to dinner. Back then, he was rude and a bit abusive, but I agreed anyway. The man I saw today is loving, caring and fun, with a good job, and I really liked his wife. On the other hand, I'm between jobs, and my relationship's turned into the utter bore. FML
Today, after getting into an argument with my dad, he told me that I would make a great ex wife one day. FML
How's he doing?
Today, and at every family event, my parents and grandparents go on and on about my ex and how much they miss him and wish I would get back with him. This would be fine, rude, but fine, except that they tell this to my husband. It's been years and we're expecting our first child. FML
But she's so wonderful…
Today, my parents are so in love with my ex, they still think it’s my fault she felt unloved enough to cheat with another man. They constantly try to convince me to take her back and become stepdad to the child she conceived with the guy she cheated on me with. FML
Badmouthing
Today, I contemplated leaving my husband because his best friend is overbearing and doesn't respect the boundaries of our relationship, all while talking bad about me to him. FML
Welcome to the family!
Today, I met my new boyfriend’s parents, hoping that they would like me. They made subtle, mean comments during dinner and made me feel like total crap, all because my boyfriend left his ex-wife for me. They don’t get that we’re both good and compatible for each other, and that’s what matters. FML

Good thing that it's your decision and not theirs. As long as you're happy, I'm sure they'll come around.

Unfortunately, people who abuse their SO's are typically very charming and manipulative to everyone around them. If your husband makes you happy, they will be fine. But your husband does not have to prove himself to them, as marriage was a decision between you and him :)

Hopefully they don't know about his abuse. If they do and still recommend him move to another state country or continent. Additionally turn the bastard in he's probably hurting someone else already.

Don't let them get to you. It's your life to live, not theirs. :)

Your parents should see what he's truly like and they'll see your husband is a better man.

If they don't know about the abuse, then tell them. If they don't believe you, then they are too stupid to see the truth when its right in front of them. If they know of the abuse and are still saying your ex is better, then they are just assholes and you should move far away from them. I've heard of parents and loved ones trying to get the abusive ex back with the victim, regardless if the victim found someone else or not.

Your parents are in denial and a little ignorant. I am glad you were able to move on from your difficult and violent first marriage and found some one better. Don't listen to them. They apparently have no idea what they are talking about

If a boyfriend ever hit me or abused my mentally, my parents would do everything to help get me OUT of that relationship, regardless of his charm. I'd never dream of parents pushing their daughter (or son) back to such a relationship. Good thing you've found a good husband OP, best of luck !

Don't be a jerk, they're her parents. Of all the people in the world who can hurt you, parents are the best at it.

So… you've realized what morons your parents are and now know to never take any of their misinformed, out-of-line "advice". I don't see the problem, here.
