Today, I noticed my nephew has blue eyes, freckles and dimples which don't run in my family or my sister's husband's family, but they do run in my husband's family. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my wife and I both have blond hair and blue eyes, we just had a red headed son. FML
Very low odds
Today, I ran into a friend that I hadn't seen in about 5 years. She had her 4-year-old son with her. I couldn’t help but notice her son looked almost identical to mine. He even had a very distinct facial feature that my husband has as well. What are the odds all three of them have the same defect? FML
Today, as I was perusing old photos with my mother, I found one of her with a "childhood friend" at her wedding to my dad. Now I know where my green eyes and blotchy neck birthmark came from, and it's not from the man I’ve been calling "dad" for 40 years. FML
Paternity test before the rest
Today, after always laughing when my mom told me to avoid dating any guy with green eyes and thinking it was some weird prejudice, she told me the truth. My father cheated and had at least six other kids. They all have green eyes and look alike. FML
Today, my niece started crying because she thought that someday she'll look like me. FML
The family tree is a stump
Today, my family is too damn close. My uncle on my dad's side just got my aunt on my mum's side pregnant, three cousins from dad's side are dating three cousins from mum's side, and a half brother from my dad is marrying my half sister from my mum. We are the inbred rednecks of this town. FML
Stolen valor
Today, I was complimented on my freckles. I don't actually have freckles, just a load of blackheads that won't go away. FML
Today, I asked my girlfriend what she loves the most about me. She said it's the fact that I look like her cousin. FML
Foiled by genetics
Today, I was chatting with my optician and it came up that eye colour is determined by parents eye colour, such as how blue and brown-eyed parents can’t make a green-eyed baby. My wife and I are blue and brown. Our 6 year-old has green eyes. I confronted her and she admitted she'd had an affair. FML
Check please!
Today, my date told me I have a smile that "reminds him of his grandma." Then he showed me a picture. I look exactly like her. FML

Run a DNA test on both. Then kick ass if your poor sweet nephew is your stepson.

Maybe you're over reacting? Sorry :(

If you plan on finding out secretly secure a sample of the boy's DNA along with your husband's and brother-in-law's if you just have to know. If it is true tread carefully cause you don't want your nephew getting hurt cause he sees your brother-in-law as his father. If you feel the need to confront someone about this is issue then I'd start with your sister then your husband. Before you confront your husband I suggest you make up your mind whether or not you plan on staying married to him cause it will effect how you approach your confrontation. If the DNA is a non-issue (it could simply be recessive) never tell anyone you did it. And if you do decide to do it have the information sent to a post office box.

I say trust your gut, if you honestly feel that way then run a DNA test. But like many say... Just because you dont think it runs in your family.. It may have a long time ago.

You don't just "run a DNA test", you need the parent to approve, and I'm sure the child's parents wouldn't be happy with you pulling shit like that because you noticed some similarities.

I think blue eyes are because your eyes don't produce melanin, or produce very little, so if the kid should have had brown eyes but the melanin didn't work properly in the eyes they would turn out blue whether they were supposed to or not. Freckles are where your skin doesn't produce melanin evenly so I imagine that could be caused by a gene not working properly either. I don't know about dimples though...

Dominant*************!!!!!!!!!

My daughter came out with white skin, blue eyes and curly copper hair. I'm black so obviously what you think are dominant genes really aren't. My fiance likes to say that his sperm are so strong they terminated my genes.

@78 my friend was actually like that, although his dad was black and his mom white, he was born white as a ghost with blonde hair and blue eyes!!! (i guess his mom's eggs were just too strong? lol) I also have another friend who has two black parents and came out the exact same way as your daughter, a somewhat tanned skin, copper hair and auburn eyes, totally weird!!

I can't see where you're from on my app, but you may have white ancestors. Most African Americans do. The caucasian traits are likely hiding in your DNA as recessive genes masked by your black traits.

Although, weird stuff like that does happen. My aunt was born to two white people & when she was a baby she looked black, with the complexion, bone structure & curly hair & everything. Now she's grown & she looks white, bone structure, hair and complexion. Very strange...

#182 oh I know I have white ancestors and relatives. it's just more common to see biracial kids take after the darker parent. I mean look at the Gosselin kids and I think that they're only a quarter Korean.
gracehi 33
That is very true. I think biracial people are beautiful though.

Most (if not all babies) are born with blue eyes, then over time can change into a different color or stay the same.
