Today, I made a typo in a line of code, bringing the company website down. Our admin was already pissed about having to work over Christmas, and he started yelling at me and ended up punching my supervisor when he got between us. Pretty sure my screw up indirectly got the poor guy fired. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Unionize!
Today, at work, my computer started acting up. I told my boss I could fix it, but he told me to call the IT department instead. Neither the IT technician or his supervisor could figure it out, so I showed them what was wrong and how to fix it. I was promptly fired for wasting 2 hours of company time. FML
Today, my boss fired me because I corrected him after he misspoke during a meeting. FML
The buck stops here
Today, my boss threw me out of her office during a conference call for daring to correct her. The client fired the company because she subsequently got all the information on the call wrong, and plainly had no idea what was going on. From all the screaming, this is now all my fault. FML
Broadcast
Today, I had to call a coworker to the office via the store intercom. The damn thing didn't turn off properly and everyone heard me say, "I hate that asshole. Just be where your dumb ass should be." I realized my mistake a few seconds before my manager stormed in and threatened to fire me. FML
Are you doing OK?
Today, I got a heads-up that my boss suffered a death in the family, but was coming into work anyway. I thought he'd be depressed, but it seems he deals with grief with anger instead. I found that out when he yelled at me, threatening to rip my spine out my ass over a typo I made in a report. FML
Today, my lazy bastard of a co-worker punched me straight in the jaw because he didn't get the promotion I did. Being his new manager, I fired him. A few hours later, I was fired for "abusing" my power. FML
Today, my boss reprimanded me for a huge screw-up that he was responsible for. FML
Today, I was happy because my co-worker was almost about to get fired due to his lazy habits. It was all going so well. Then I accidentally put my biggest sale yet under his name. FML
Today, at work, I stepped out for a few minutes to use the bathroom. Shortly after returning, I found out the hard way that one of my coworkers had used my computer to send a profanity-filled email to our boss, calling him an asshole and telling him to go fuck himself. I'm now jobless. FML
Today, my boss sent me a text message saying, "You're fired. Merry Christmas!" FML

It's not your fault that he reacted so strongly and punched a guy.

I really don't see that as your fault that the guy over reacted and punched a superior

How could it be your fault, that he punched someone in the face? If it wasn't this he would have lost it some other time.

I get why you would feel guilty, but it's not your fault or responsibility. He behaved completely unprofessionally and deserved what he got.

His lack of self-control is not your concern. Don't feel guilty. Your error was small, his was large.

Nope, that's all on him, dear. Not your fault at all.

You were testing on a production server? For shame.

Childish Reaction: Vent frustration, yell at co-workers and punch your supervisor. Adult Reaction: Fix the issue as quickly as possible. On Monday, review procedures and figure out how things went wrong... ask for a new process to prevent mistakes, especially on Holidays.

It was him punching your manager that got him fired, you had no control over his actions. However, your sense of sympathy is well-placed. Don't feel guilty, but do feel sorry for him.

Not your fault he punched a guy. I do understand why he'd be angry even if it was a mistake. Working Christmas is hell sometimes especially if you're missing family. However still no excuse for that

You are not responsible for another's foolish actions. He decided to act like fool, he got himself fired.
