Today, I just finished a driving school that I thought would lower my insurance by 10%. It was 30 hours so I was glad it was over, that was until I found out I took the wrong class. FML

Today, I completed driving school. After 30 hours of classwork, 6 hours of driving lessons, and a very tough driving test, I passed and can now get a 15% safe driver insurance discount. My friend just told me he only had to watch a 15 minute video to get the same discount. FML
Today, I was rear-ended while at a stop sign, by my driving instructor. FML
Today, as I was taking the driver's test to get my license, I backed into a car. It belonged to the instructor sitting in my passenger seat. FML
Today, I passed my driver's test. My instructor took the learner signs off his car and let me drive back to my place. I guess he didn't bet on me crashing the car just a few blocks from the test center. FML
Today, after finally getting my drivers license, I was able to drive myself to school for the first time! I got fined $50 for accidentally parking in the wrong lot. FML
Today, while I was driving, I saw my driving instructor from high school walking on the sidewalk. As I waved to him, I rear-ended the car in front of me. Guess I really showed him how much I learned from him. FML
Today, after my driving instructor told me I should pass without any worries at all, I completely failed. I was hit by another car. While parked. FML
Today, I had my first driving test. The instructor turned out to be the kind of twit who made me do the full 60-minute test, only to tell me afterwards that he was failing me for the only mistake I made less than 2 minutes after the test started. Time wasting tit. FML
Today, I took my driving test. I spent 30 minutes with the handbrake on. FML
Today, I hit a parked car. It happened to be my driving instructor's car. While he was instructing me, sitting in the passenger seat. I don't think I'll pass. FML

I can understand initially going to the wrong class, but I don't see how you failed to realize it before the thirty hour course ended.

Hey, defensive driving is good! If you use what you know, at least you won't get into an accident and bring your insurance up.

It's still possible that someone else won't know what they're doing and cause an accident.

#8: of course, that won't preclude others from causing accidents, but some insurance companies only raise the cost if it was your fault. Defensive driving is still a good thing to learn, no? :)

I can see what you mean --I thought the same thing, but a lot of driving classes can be similar. It could be as simple as OP taking a class by someone who wasn't on a list of people that were deemed reputable by their insurance company. It could also be a different type of class under the subcategory the insurance company wanted. It could be a myriad of things but I agree, before taking a 30 hour class I would make damn sure I did my research and was in the correct class.
