Today, I drove an hour to work, did nothing for 8 hours, drove an hour back, and then studied for 4 hours. This has been happening for weeks. FML

Today, I returned from vacation. Because of rain, I spent 3 days sitting in a hotel room, watching a TV with bad reception. I'm now less relaxed that if I'd have just stayed home, because that wouldn't have cost me $500, and my TV has more than 15 channels. So much for my first vacation in 5 years. FML

Today, I spent six hours driving between two airports to try and catch my flight. Two trailer accidents, two construction zones, three detours, and one police escort later, the airline wouldn't let me on the plane. FML

Today, I'm on a road trip with my wife and in-laws. After 8 hours of driving we stopped at a hotel to rest overnight. I was elected to go to the grocery store to get dinner. While I was gone, they ate at a restaurant without me. I spent $80 on groceries for the trash can. FML

Today, I have a busy week scheduled at work, so I took my file home to smash out some reports. Naturally I did not do any work at home and then I also forgot to take the file back to work the next day. Instead of saving time, I wasted an hour driving home to collect it. FML

Today, my friend and I got back from a vacation, for which we both took time off work and coordinated. He didn’t want to do anything besides stay in the cabin and play video games. We went on a half-mile walk and that's about it. FML

My advice might come across as bizarre but you should learn to appreciate the process of things. For example, I love driving - I would consider it part of the vacation. Just learn to ignore the stress of others (ie traffic) and enjoy being unchained.

A lot of truth to this. I drive from Jackson, Mississippi to Chicago, Illinois a few times due to school and I always find something to look forward going and coming back from there

Agreed! I went to the Maritimes in eastern Canada a long time ago, and the group I was with wanted to do some sight seeing. Being Canada, you drive for a lot longer than the actual touristy things you do. But that drive was way more memorable than what we saw! Good times.

I love driving too, love to road trip places and when not on holiday will sometimes go for a drive with no particular destination, just because.

can't tell if your being sarcastic, but new jersey has beautiful beaches and unfortunately you can sit in traffic for 2 or 3 hours if you time it wrong.
