Today, I got pulled over for having an expired registration. I also found out my husband hasn't been paying for my car insurance. Luckily, I didn't get arrested because I had my baby with me. They towed my car and gave me 2 tickets and a court date. Oh, and the cop sent me a friend request. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was driving home from work when I saw a cop come up behind me. Nervous about my expired license, I kept checking in my rear view mirror. In turn since I wasn't paying attention, I ran a stop sign. Needless to say the cop pulled me over and gave me 2 tickets. FML
Today, I got pulled over for violating hands-free law and not having an updated address on my driver's license. Two days ago, I got pulled over for the same reasons. Now, I have four tickets I need to deal with. FML
Today, coming home from a trip in the mountains, I got a cracked radiator and my car overheated. My dad came to get me, he drove my car and I followed in his. I got pulled over and ticketed for his expired registration. FML
Today, I got a speeding ticket in the mail, at the same time as my car was getting towed. FML
Today, I got a ticket for driving without insurance. I gave the cop my insurance information, but he said it was invalid because it didn't show an expiration date. When I pointed out the information he was looking for, he ignored me and gave me a ticket anyway. FML
Today, I received a traffic ticket by mail, presumably for speeding. Not a big deal, if my car hadn't been totalled three months ago. My driver's license is expired, too. FML
Today, a police officer pulled me over. He asked me where I was headed, so I jokingly replied, "Probably to jail after you run my name". He laughed and took my information, only to then arrest me for unpaid parking tickets I never received. FML
Today, I went downtown to pay my speeding ticket. After standing in line and arguing with a rude woman behind the desk, I get back to my car only to find an expired meter and a parking ticket. I got a ticket while paying my ticket. FML
Today, I woke up to find a parking ticket on my car. My car was in my driveway and the cop who wrote it is my ex-boyfriend. This is the third time. FML
Today, I was pulled over by the police. The cop was my ex-boyfriend. He had no legitimate reason to pull me over, so he thoroughly checked my car. He gave me a defect notice and a fine. What for? A broken door lock, on my rear passenger door. FML

Although you got two tickets and your car towed, at least you didn't get arrested. You should maybe have a talk with you husband though.

File a complaint with the PD, they probably have a policy prohibiting this

The friend request probably means you didn't get arrested because you're an attractive young woman, not because of your baby.

Why? The cop didn't do anything unethical. He didn't offer to sleep with her to avoid getting towed. The police may be looking for evidence through a casual friend request.

You and the hubby needs to have a serious conversation! That's messed up, luckily the officer wasn't mean and allowed u to go home with your child. As for the friend request, that's a bit weird.

Wait no... These are all you fault... You should know whether or not your car is registered and whether or not you have insurance You're supposed to keep those papers in the car... So you at any time could/should have known about them

If she's just had a baby, I'm pretty sure none of these things would be on her mind. In my country, we don't carry those details around with us, in fact my partner got done because there was no notification as to when his rego expired, and he'd been under a lot of stress at the time and didn't realise the date passed. Also doesn't list on the FML where she's from.

Actually I believe this is a civil offense punishable by fines not a criminal offense like drunk driving.

Depends on the state. Every state is different and the penalties vary from community service up to and including imprisonment in some states.
