Today, I got a taxi home from work. Only having notes in my wallet, I told the taxi driver that I'd run inside my house and come back out with the change for the journey. He agreed, but only if I left my bag as collateral. It seemed fair. An hour later, I realized my wallet was missing. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Stranded
Today, I called a taxi after a night of partying. When it arrived, I realised I had no cash, so I told the driver I'd quickly grab some from an ATM. He made me leave my phone with him as collateral in case I was pulling a prank. He drove off the moment I turned my back. FML
Today, the police called because someone had turned in my wallet that was stolen. I happily drove home only to find that my house had been robbed and ransacked. FML
TW: gross
Today, I was taking a taxi home after drinking too much. I started to feel sick and, not wanting to be charged the cab cleaning fee, threw up into my handbag instead. When we got to my place I then had to fish through my bag for my wallet to pay the driver. FML
Today, I went to the store to buy some groceries. Several hours later I realize that I can't find my wallet. After looking all over my house and then the store parking lot, I had my credit cards cancelled. On the drive home, I feel something under me. It was my wallet. FML
Today, I went to retrieve my stolen wallet from a train station. After I collected it, I returned to the place where I'd parked my bike, only to find that my bike had been stolen. FML
Stuck
Today, I had to take two buses home from a friend's house. After waiting in the cold for the second bus for 40 minutes, it finally came and I realized that I'd left my wallet on the first bus. It took me 2 hours to walk home and I was locked out because my house key is attached to my wallet. FML
Today, I had an argument with my partner, which resulted in us breaking up, and me leaving. I drove for half an hour before I realised I had left my handbag, purse, and licence at his place. I had to go ask for it back. FML
Today, I left my wallet on top of my car when I filled up with gas. I drove away and didn't realize it until I got home. I went back and found it on the side of the road. Empty of my credit cards, pictures and checks. All that was left was my driver's license. FML
Minus one Karma
Today, I lost my wallet while out shopping. Panicked, I retraced my steps and found it at a store, turned in by an employee. Grateful, I opened it to find a note that read, "We left the money but took one dollar for karma." I checked. They did actually take one dollar. FML
No good deed and all that
Today, I found a wallet on the sidewalk and spent an hour tracking down the owner. When I finally returned it, he opened it, counted the cash in front of me, and asked if I was sure there hadn't been more money in it. FML

Why do you care it was only notes

The OP is from the UK so notes over their doesn't mean notes like over here in Canada and USA. Notes are a form of currency for them in a paper form. He was probably going to go to go get a pound or quids.

Thanks 132 for explaining something so blindingly obvious. #2 must be wearing sunglasses.

136 - He may not be from the UK and it is possible to see through sunglasses.

"A pound or quids" makes no sense in England, but good effort for currency translation. Also "going to go to go get": I think you need a proof reader.

It's not that bad [unless the notes were that important]... It's better than losing money and credit cards in my opinion.

You should have just rounded up to the next dollar and given him a tip geeze
lottiebearx 10
so you're saying give him a tenner for a £5 taxi journey? or a 50 quid note for a £20? i don't freakin think so, no taxi service is worth that much tip - especially since the fares are painfully expensive anyway.

He only said you had to leave your bag in the car, you could have been a smartass and taken what you actually might want back out of it.... Probably the smarter thing to do next time.
