Today, I found out that due to the fact that I got divorced, the insurance for my car is going up. A year after she took everything, she is still costing me money. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that the money that my wife claims went into repairing her car engine actually is going towards helping her pay for a divorce. FML
Cancel culture
Today, I found out that my insurance canceled my contract, claiming I hadn't paid, even though I had. I only discovered this because I backed into a car. FML
Today, after 2 years of paying off the insurance fees after an accident, I got rear-ended. It was the same driver who crashed into me the first time. FML
Beep beep
Today, my sister got her car insurance quote in the mail. You would think it would go way up after being charged with reckless driving. It went up $1 per month. My insurance went up $100 per month after I tapped someone's bumper a year ago. I wasn't even charged. FML
Love costs a fortune
Today, I found out that my now ex-fiancé was still married to her ex throughout the entire relationship. What I didn't realize was that I ended up paying for the divorce, and 3 months later she got married to someone else. FML
Stick to sidewalks
Today, after my car got stolen and flipped on its roof three months ago, making it an insurance write-off, and getting a new car a week ago, a drunk driver crashed into my parked car, writing it off. In both instances the drivers were thankfully OK, it's just my insurance premiums skyrocketing, no biggie. FML
Today, I found out I was getting a divorce. My wife is leaving me for my brother, saying that now that he has money there is nothing that can stand in their way. I recently decided to send him money to help him get back on his feet. FML
I'm an excellent driver
Today, my husband ran our car into a fence at work. He had to file an insurance claim, with a company we only just got with, and it's going to deplete the rest of our taxes. FML
Today, a woman rear-ended my car. She's trying to sue me for 'emotional damage'. FML
Today, I found out that my tax filing status was never changed after my divorce. This means I haven't been paying enough and now the government wants its money. FML

The good ol' 50/50 split. She gets everything you have, you get everything you can afford from the duvorce forward, minus child support and alimony, while she never works again. Great system isn't it?

What's hers is hers, and what's yours is also hers. Take solace in the fact that she's no longer in your life.

#115 Sigh. Ofc. Women don't even know what work is, they don't own a single property, item (it's all the husband's property ofc or he gave it to her as a gift), they never invest anything in a relationship and they get "everything" when you divorce.

She got the gold mine, I got the shaft. Listen to Jerry Reed, that's how 60% of marriages end.

To be fair, getting divorced does show a lack of financial responsibility. I mean, who seriously gets married to someone who they can't trust to stay with them forever

As someone that works in insurance I can tell you being married or divorced has no rating on your policy what-so-ever. It would be to do with your age and gender. Insurance it rated on statistics and males gave a higher change of needing to make a claim then a female. Your policy is now only bring being rated on one male driver rather than two drivers. The cheapest age to insure us the 40-55 age bracket and then up the premiums go again!

Did you also move address as part of the divorce? Because you may have moved to a higher risk suburb, is you car parked on the street instead of in a garage now?
