Today, I found out my dad bought an iPhone. I've spent the better part of the last six months teaching him how to check his email and online newspapers. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my father is really enjoying the iPhone my mother gave him for Christmas. He's enjoying it so much that he's already installed all sorts of dating apps. FML
Today, my elderly dad learned how to use Facebook. He now spends most of his time messaging me about his meals, his bowel movements and his foot fungus. He's now learning how to use Skype. FML
Today, my parents gave me an iPhone. They then checked my grades online, and promptly took it away. FML
Today, I found out that my mom has linked my iPhone with her iPad and has been secretly reading my texts. FML
New tech
Today, I finally convinced my grandpa to try a smartphone. After an hour of teaching him how to text, he announced he'd figured it out on his own. The first message he ever sent was meant for me. It went to his pharmacist instead and simply read, "Love you. Thanks for everything." FML
Memory man
Today, my dad let me use his phone. Five minutes later, he had my mom call it because he thought he'd lost it. FML
Today, I found out that whenever I send my son to his room, he goes on his iPod and buys the most expensive apps he can find. So far I've been charged $600. FML
Today, we got my dad an iPad for his birthday. I had to repeatedly reassure him that he could in fact touch the screen without being shocked. FML
Today, I was assigned to be the one to teach Grandpa how to use his new smartphone. An hour in, and we're still going over volume controls. FML
Today, my dad got a new phone and put me on speed dial. I have received several voice mails from him accidentally dialed. They are from him riding the train, in a meeting, having lunch, and, most recently, him taking a monstrous dump. FML

I think OP means it's going to take alot longer than six months to teach their dad how to use an iPhone.

I understand, OP spent 6 months teaching him to use his email and look at online newspapers (which is a pretty basic thing to do) so will now have to spend ages teaching him how to use his iPhone.

Uh, iPhones really aren't that hard to use... I've had one for like, 2 years. The first day I had it I figured everything else, honestly? iPhone's aren't as complicated; or as crappy; as people say. OHSAWWY. I was like, so untrooly and should like change my name and stuffz. -.-

Oh my ******* God......I had to teach my mom how to update Norton Internet Security. "Press the update button.....yes, that's it, now wait.....yay! You succeeded!" I feel for you....

This is not a FML.

Six months? You must be a horrible teacher. Even a relatively intelligent chimpanzee could figure it out before your dad. Online newspapers is literally not much more complicated than typing in an URL. Tell him it comes with an instruction manual.
