Today, I finished doing a resume that I had spent three hours on. I e-mailed it to the business I was applying for, satisfied. I decided to look it over. The first thing I notice, I spelt my own name wrong. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I realized I had misspelled "Education" on all the resumes I've been submitting. FML
At least they're reading them…
Today, I spent ages writing a draft press release as part of a copywriting job application. I worked really hard and read it through several times before submitting. They emailed me to point out that I'd misspelled the name of the company. Twice. FML
Attention to detail
Today, I wrote an email for a job offer. I checked it, double-checked it, triple-checked it, and then sent it. It's only THEN that I realised my CV wasn't attached. FML
Today, I sent a thank you note after a job interview, emphasizing my accuracy at editing written reports; I misspelled the company's name. FML
Today, I applied for my first job. I didn't know how to write a resume, so I copied and pasted one from someone else and reworked it. I got on the bus, handed it in, and left. Then I remembered I forgot to change the contact info and date. FML
Today, I got an e-mail regarding an IT support job I applied to. The e-mail had numerous formatting errors due to bad code, and typos all over the place. It said I wasn't qualified for the job. FML
Today, I realized I sent over 2 dozen job applications with my dating profile word doc instead of my resume. FML
Today, I sent a cover letter to a potential employer. In the letter, I talked about my great attention to detail, my strong ability to focus, and my stellar writing skills. After hitting send, I reread the letter and noticed that I typed my name "B-R-A-I-N." My name is Brian. FML
Today, I noticed that I've been spelling my company's name wrong in my email signature for over a year. FML
Thanks, I hate it
Today, after spending four days having my resume, cover letter, and references proofread and perfected by professionals, I finally submitted it all to the summer internship of my dreams. I received a rejection letter ten minutes later. FML

I don't understand how people can have such issues with resumes. How hard is it to type one page clearly and correctly?

Seriously, especially when it's something this important. As the English teachers OF MY ENTIRE LIFE have said "ALWAYS READ IT AT LEAST ONCE MORE." Also everybody, spelt IS a word. Look it up, jackasses. http://www.answers.com/spelt http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spelt[2] http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/spelt http://www.thefreedictionary.com/spelt http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/spelt It's a little something called ALTERNATIVE SPELLING... you know, kind of like "color" vs "colour"? Or, more closely, "smelled" vs "smelt"? Not everyone uses the same damn words and spellings. Pick up a book some time.. And about the plant part... I suppose then that makes rape not verb either? Twats.

Doesn't mean it is not a word, nor that it is still not in use.
