Today, I felt bad about rarely complimenting my mom about her cooking, so during dinner, I raved about her incredible, creamy, macaroni and cheese. It came from a box. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, at a family party, my uncles were complimenting my mom on her pies. I cooked them. She took all the credit. FML
Motherly odor
Today, my daughter said, “Mommy, you’re my favorite person!” Then she added, “Because you smell like mac and cheese.” FML
Today, my kids told me that for the FIRST time, my cooking was delicious. I made Kraft dinner that night. FML
Too many cooks, etc.
Today, I tried to make a grilled cheese sandwich for myself, but as soon as I started, my mom rushed into the kitchen and criticized me for making it "wrong". She then made the sandwich for me. It tasted significantly worse than when I make them. FML
Connoisseur
Today, I was reprimanded by my mom and her current man over my opinions on one of their church social friend's "homemade" lasagna. I didn't say anything, just took one bite, and ate no more. How politely do you say that you know full well she shoved Stouffer's frozen lasagna into the oven? I recognized it from just the smell! FML
Everyone loves a weepie
Today, my always over-emotional husband burst into sobs when I thanked him for making me lunch. Apparently, I did not compliment his cooking enough. He microwaved me a Hot Pocket; it was still frozen in the middle. FML
Speak for yourself
Today, I was at a fancy family dinner. The dish I'd made was served, and as we ate, I told my aunt that I was a total failure as a cook, explaining everything wrong about my dish, in painful detail. Apparently we'd both made the same dish. That one wasn't mine. FML
Today, my mom confessed that she has to make up compliments to give to prove me wrong when I said she can never say positive things about me. FML
Today, my mom complained that I never do anything nice for her, so while out shopping I bought her favorite chocolate bar. When I got home, she screamed at me because she’s on a diet. FML
Tasty treat
Today, my mom tried a new recipe for dinner. She proudly served what she called "gourmet vegetable stew." One bite later, I had to fight every urge to not gag. She asked me how it tasted, and with a straight face, I said, "Delicious!" She then asked for my honest opinion, so I told her it was, um, "an acquired taste." She hasn’t spoken to me since. FML

Macaroni in a box is delicious. Plus she might've added stuff to it to make it better!

True! I like to jazz up boxed mac n cheese by either melting in shredded cheese, or mixing in some queso dip. So good!

Mac and Cheese is like pizza. Even when it's bad it's still Mac and Cheese.

@22, so when pizza is bad, it's still Mac and Cheese?

Says someone that hasn't had to choke down M&C that was simultaneously burned AND undercooked.

Sounds like a Kraft commercial. Kudos to you for not taking your mom for granted.

Still took her for granted, just made it less so by complimenting her this time. He did good though.

Hey you can still mess up boxed macaroni and cheese! If she done good she done good.

I think a simple "Thanks for dinner" would've sufficed...

Anything else would have been too cheesy.

I think you owe the box an apology

You came straight from her box and look how you turned out, sweet and caring. She did a good job letting you cook in her oven for a while you could say.
