Today, I faced my fears. I've always had a weird fear of looking out of windows at night, afraid a face would suddenly appear. When I heard a strange noise outside, I looked out the window. Sure enough, the face of a man suddenly appeared. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was walking to the kitchen in the dark. Something caught my eye and I turned to see a man standing in the corner, clear as day. I jumped and closed my eyes for a split second. When I opened them, he was nowhere to be seen. I'm now terrified to live in my own home. FML
Spooked
Today, I came home late from work. As I got out of my car, I noticed a child-shaped silhouette in my bedroom window. I almost shat myself, since I live alone. I searched the whole house, sobbing in fear, only to find no trace of whatever or whoever I'd seen. FML
Today, I came home from work and went to open the door. I Iooked through the window and saw a man in my house. Terrified, I called the police. They came, searched the house, and found nothing missing. I went back inside and looked through the window and saw him again. It was my reflection. FML
WHO ARE YOU?
Today, I was on the toilet and jumped when I saw a face at the window. It was my own reflection. FML
Today, as I sat on the toilet, I heard a noise outside. I peered through the window and found myself staring directly at my neighbor. FML
Today, as I was going to bed, I spotted a man staring at my window from a neighbor's yard. Ten minutes later, he was still there. I freaked out, started crying, and contemplated calling the cops. My creeper turned out to be the neighbor's wooden lawn ornament. FML
Today, I walked into my near pitch-black bathroom and saw a person staring back at me. I woke my whole family up with my screams. The person was my reflection. FML
Freaked out
Today, I finally felt motivated to do some exercise. As I got my weights out, I noticed out of the corner of my eye someone moving about outside my window. I got scared and dropped a weight on my foot. The person outside was my own reflection. FML
Stay indoors, it's safer at the moment
Today, I was texting while walking up the stairs to my porch. When I looked up, I saw someone standing behind the porch door, and was so scared that I fell backwards down the stairs. Turns out, it was just my reflection. FML
Stranger danger
Today, I happened to make eye contact with a stranger standing on a balcony of the apartment building across the train tracks from mine. He ran his finger across his neck like a knife and winked at me. I'm afraid to go out again. FML

I apologise, I didn't mean to startle you! I'll be more discreet next time...

I'm so sorry I have this fear too, but it had to have just been a coincidence.

It could've also been her seeing things. I'm not skitzophrenic, but I sometimes imagine things I don't want to see.

Actually that might've been it like I'll see a face in the dark because I can't sleep that's probably what happened

I wasn't seeing someone who wasn't there. There was actually a guy outside of my house looking into my window.

I'm sorry but I can't get over how sad of an attempt that was at spelling schizophrenic in #54's comment

Nice to know I'm not alone with this. Happened to me too, but actually it wasn't as bad as I had imagined, I had always thought I would totally freak out if this really happened, but it was more like "oh a face. oh, it's grandma." Still afraid of dark windows though.

What else would it have been?

Wow!! Facing your dears is a great first step OP..
masterreader878 12
Hmm? Are you implying they have multiple SOs, or "dears". Or did you mean to say deers? I think you meant to say deers, so... *deers. You couldn't have possibly meant fears though, that's for sure.

I recently had to face my dears. They caught onto my cheating ways. Dammit. Guess I'll have to keep my dears in separate cities from now on.

That awkward moment when the plural for deer isn't deers ???

Did you wave?
MonstreBelle 29
Of course. It would have been rude to ignore him and not wave. My mother taught me better than that!

well, your fear is well justified, but obviously, nothing bad happened.

I also avoid Windows and mirrors in the dark, they're scary.

I try to avoid Windows at all times, especially Windows 10. Linux is much better.

I have no idea why I laughed so hard at this comment.

Mirrors creep me out in the dark. Couldn't tell you why. When there's just enough light to see the reflection -- *shivers*

y'all should stop watching horror movies

You let him in, right? Oh, how friendships are made. :)
MonstreBelle 29
He ran away before I could let him in. I guess he didn't want to be my friend :(
