Today, I came home to a lease violation and a $220 fine after a routine pest control visit. The violation: my single beta fish in a small bowl. FML

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

Same thing different taste

If the lease says no pets then you totally deserve it.

That's completely untrue. My apartment complex doesn't allow any type of dog, and they only allow tenants to have up to 2 cats. They can have whatever rules they want....

YDI for keeping a live animal in inhumane conditions.

even if places are picky you could most likely fight that... I would take it to small claims court. (but only if the cost is less then the original fine)

You can spell it beta or betta.

yeah you can also spell it betttta or bettta.. oh come on, because a thousand people don't know how to spell it doesn't make a spelling right...

I'd fight it. Check out the tenant laws in your area

but geez beta fishes don't require a large tank like other fishes and most if the time it sits there. -_-

...only one thing to do now! eat the fish :PPP

I have 4 bettas that live in their own bowls and they are just bowls with gravel and the fish live for a few years!

no pets mean no pets however small they may be ydi

Lol sucks for you.. We have 4 betas in our apartment.. And my co worker who lives in the same complex has a 40lb lab and neither of us have ever paid a pet deposit.. That's just dumb charging you 200 bucks for a 2 dollar fish
