Today, I called the landlord about the mouse I keep seeing in my kitchen. He wasted no time accusing me of keeping it as a pet, and went off on me about his "No Pets" policy. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my landlord came to my apartment because of complaints from my neighbors, saying that animals are not allowed inside. Turns out my roommate makes cat-noises when she's bored. My landlord still doesn't believe me. FML
Community cat squad
Today, I found out that I have mice because my landlady got rid of the community cats that were keeping them outside, and apparently my cats aren't taking care of them. I found out when I turned on my oven and my apartment was filled with an awful smell that turned out to be burning mouse crap. FML
No more clicks for you
Today, after I'd saved a baby mouse and was filming a YouTube series of me taking care of it, my boyfriend told me he found a “rat” in the kitchen, but not to worry he killed it and fed it to the cat. He killed my baby mouse, and now he’s mad I didn’t praise him for his brilliant extermination job. FML
Usually a bad omen
Today, my boyfriend finally moved in with me, after being long distance for months. Our apartment just became infested with mice. FML
Cool cool cool
Today, after living in my new apartment for barely three weeks, I found mice living under my dishwasher. When I brought it up to the managers, they said I'd have to pay for an exterminator myself since they weren't there when they cleaned. FML
No dog for you
Today, I asked my landlord if I could get a dog. He said no, and gave me an illegal rent increase. FML
Sorry Mr Nibbles
Today, I was at my boyfriend's house, meeting his family for the first time. We were all standing in the kitchen when suddenly a small white and brown mouse ran by. Out of natural instinct, I stomped on it. Turns out, it was his little sister's pet mouse that had gotten out of its cage earlier. FML
Spooky
Today, I set up a mouse trap to kill the rodent plaguing my kitchen. While lying in bed, I heard an unmistakable snap, and ran to see what I'd caught. The mouse trap was missing. I now have a large, angry, and possibly dying animal running around my house. FML
Today, I came home to an eviction notice after an apartment inspection. The reason? Having an unauthorized pet that could cause unnecessary damage to my suite. My pet is a goldfish. FML
Predator meets prey
Today, I found a mouse in my kitchen. Wanting to go about it the humane way, I captured the little guy and released it outside. I then watched as a stray cat in my yard noticed and brutally murdered it. No good deed… FML

That's when you kill it and throw it at the windshield of his car.

Obviuosly this is just a big misunderstanding. Cook a nice meal and invite the landlord over to watch the movie Ratatouille. Then you can calmly explain to him that rodents have no place in the kitchen.

Mate, obviously you don't get the meaning of my joke. If it bothers you that much, then OP can watch the movie Willard with the landlord, but it won't have the same effect with the nice meal and all.

No, he should cook a "nice meal" for the landlord using the mouse

Let the mouse be and let him multiply, then lead your new army to his office and take over the apartments. Problem solved, have a nice day.

There's one mouse. How could he possibly multiply by himself?

73 - Well you see, the mouse is secretly a mad scientist with a lab located just behind the refrigerator. He has mastered how to clone oneself and will soon begin the invasion.

Was it driving a little red car and did it sound like Micheal J. Fox? I'm guessing that this landlord will say anything to deny his responsibility to his tenants.

Judging by the two comments above me, I believe FML is being infiltrated by those 15 & under. Good Lord, we're doomed to poor grammar, anagrams and unnecessary replies on posts.

You know, you could just put a fee mouse traps and poison. in you kitchen and catch it yourself. Seeing as you can have no other pets you won't have to worry about them getting hurt and if you have kids just keep it out of where they can reach. Then all you need to do is wait for the traps and poison to work and then you can take the pleasure of leaving it on your landlord's doorstep with a little note saying that he fails at his job!

You could call an exterminator company, tell them your situation and that your landlord gets the bill! It is his responsibility to take care of these things and if he won't do anything about it, you can. Many states have specific laws about what landlords are supposed to do, maybe you should see what is acceptable in your state. :)
