never again Carstairs, Canada

Today, I babysat for a woman for the first time. When I arrived, there was a large pile of dishes in the sink. I decided to wash the dishes for her while the kids napped. She came home, noticed it, and bitched me out over how I'd only done it "to try and get more money" out of her. What? FML

Yeah because somehow, you doing her dishes sucks the cash right out of her wallet.

Next time don't do anything and leave the house a mess. Then when she gripes you out, remind her of this occasion. Kind of hard to have it both ways.

Get another babysitting job. That was very nice of you and every mother in her right mind would be very thankful to have a sitter who doesn't sit idle all throughout the kids nap. If this woman reacts like you said, she will always be cheap (obviously), but also unappreciative of genuine helpfulness. Move on and work for better people.

Canada is to polite for me

That's insane, she should understand that it is actually usual for the house to be cleaned up after the kids, by the babysitter. If the dishes were a part of the mess, than it is a good babysitters job to clean up at least most of the dishes.
