Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was grounded for not agreeing with an article on dating my mom found in a very strict magazine. The article told parents to monitor phone calls, make rumors about their children cheating on people, and not allow their children anywhere but home. FML
Judge and jury
Today, I turned 18 and I’m now subject to adult discipline. My dad says I will no longer be grounded or have my phone taken away, but I have three strikes and if I get to three, he’s throwing me out to get my own house. He then gave me my first strike because I was 30 minutes late picking up my nana. FML
Today, I'm a 22 year-old guy with a 11:00 pm curfew. FML
Today, my dad learned how to use the parental controls. I now have an 11 o'clock curfew. I am 17. FML
You gotta be kidding me?
Today, my mom scolded me and threatened to ground me for coming home past midnight. Normally, it wouldn't be unreasonable, except for the fact that I'm 24 years-old, and that my parents live with me, in my own house. FML
Today, my mum took away my laptop and my phone and won't let me call, text, or go out with friends for one month. Why? I left the toilet seat up. I'm writing this from a public library. FML
Today, I was given a call home, a 3-day-suspension, and a week of detention in school for a "serious violation of the code of conduct." Said violation? Jogging in the middle of the hall. FML
Logic
Today, I was grounded by my mom because I had slept in past 11, when she wanted me to wake up at seven to do chores. According to her logic, I should have seen the note she left on the counter earlier this morning. FML
How very dare you?
Today, I told my mom about the couple of times that I'd skipped classes during high school. She got really mad and grounded me for a month. That would usually be normal except for the fact that I'm 27 and live in my own apartment. FML
Bad grandma
Today, I'm grounded for literally the whole summer because my parents found out that I was still seeing my grandma behind their backs, even though they banned her from ever seeing us again after she spanked my sister. FML

It is a little unreasonable to be grounded for being a few minutes late, but it is their house. You can follow your own rules when you get your own place. Either your parents are control freaks or you always do things that make them not trust you. I don't know the whole story so I didn't put anything.

Everyone saying they're justified just because he's living in their house... just because he lives with them doesn't give them the right to control how late he stays out or where he goes. He's a grown man. Maybe he's unable to move out at this time. Believe it or not, people don't always have to throw themselves out of the house the second they turn eighteen. In fact, his age doesn't matter at all. Their house or not, they're being way too controlling. Even if he were fourteen or fifteen, such a strict punishment for something so arbitrary is ridiculous.

you're 18 suck it up because if you still live with your parents, and they provide you with everything you have, food, clothes, money, a roof, they have a right to punish you for breaking the rules. at 18 you should have enough responsibility to get home on time, or even early, and anticipate traffic to accommodate to your parents' rules
