Today, for karaoke, I sang American Woman by Lenny Kravitz. The entire audience cracked up laughing and at least three people pulled out their cell phones to record my performance. At the end, the DJ said, "Looks like someone had too much tonight." I was completely sober. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Turn around, Bright Eyes
Today, I was at a karaoke bar. After a few drinks, I gave it a go. Halfway through “Total Eclipse of the Heart” I got so into it, I knocked over the mic stand. The mic flew off, hit the DJ, who then hit the emergency stop button, cutting off the music. I froze as the bar erupted into laughter. I did get a free Coke for my “performance,” which was something. FML
I got heels, they’re made of plywood
Today, I was at a friend's birthday party in a packed karaoke bar/restaurant and I drunkenly agreed to sing. I picked a song I thought I knew by heart, only to realize halfway through that the lyrics on the screen were not at all what I thought they were. My brain went for a smoke break or something, and I turned into a rambling mess. The crowd actually booed. FML
Karaoke night
Today, I went to a karaoke bar that my girlfriend works at. I'm a halfway decent singer, so I picked out a song we both liked and decided to give it a go. Halfway through the song I sneezed, tripped, fell off the stage and knocked myself out in front of my girlfriend and fifty bar patrons. FML
Today, I went to a karaoke bar for the first time. I'd never sung in front of others, but I gave it a try. I was accused of being way too drunk and was asked to leave. I didn't get kicked out in the end, but I was told that my singing voice sounds like a dying goat. FML
Today, my friend and I went to a club. She said I look hilarious when I dance drunk. I was completely sober. FML
Name that tune!
Today, I signed up for karaoke at a bar, thinking I’d picked a fun, easy song. When it started playing, I realized I'd unknowingly chosen the eight-minute extended remix with two full guitar solos. I had to awkwardly sway on stage for five minutes while everyone drank their beers silently. FML
Very brave
Today, I gathered the courage to sing karaoke after saying no for years. The lyrics screen froze halfway through the song, and everyone expected me to keep going from memory since I picked it. It turns out I only knew the chorus. I hummed for an entire verse as bemused strangers politely clapped along. FML
Today, I worked up the courage to sing at an open mic night. I lost my cool halfway through because all I could hear was laughter. FML
Excuses, excuses
Today, I arse-dialled my ex while drunkenly singing karaoke at a bar. She picked up just in time to hear me belting out a heartfelt rendition of "I Will Survive." I don't think she bought my "pocket dial" excuse. FML
Today, I was singing and playing keyboards with my band on stage at a club. A drunken chick from the crowd tried to climb up onto the stage in her heels, fell, and grabbed the back of my mic stand to catch herself. And busted me in the mouth with my own microphone. Then she requested a song. FML

this is why I listen to heavy metal... nobody else who listens to it gets pissed if I get a song wrong, and, even better, people don't feel the need to do covers, cause it's just lame and unoriginal, cause nobody wants to listen to shit twice

...and you probably think the Trivium or Slipknot you listen to constitutes metal. There are some amazing metal covers out there (and, if you do a cover right you make it more interesting): Nevermore's version of Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence" Blind Guardian's rendition of "Surfin USA" Dream Theater's covers (available only in bootleg) of the entire albums Master of Puppets and Number of the Beast Apocalyptica's cover of Metallica's "Creeping Death" If I had to guess I'd say you've never heard of any of those four bands...besides maybe Apocalyptica, I heard they got super shitty and poppy in the last couple years.

Dream Theater also does a wicked Queen cover of 3 songs, "Tenement Funster, Flick of the Wrist and Lilly of the Valley" and a great Rainbow cover, the song Stargazer. But anyways, that sucks about the Karaokee bar, maybe you'll think twice next time

Well, I guess everybody on fmylife is a grammar or history teacher. Last time I checked, people spelled shit like ThIs and dis and th1s and so on and so forth. Also, whether he was specific about whether it was Lenny Kravitz or The Guess Who, who gives a flying ****? Quit being a douchebag.
