Today, when I finished helping a customer, she said, “Thanks cutie!” When I thanked her she giggled and said, “I just like making people smile, plus I bet you don’t get called that often!” FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was helping my elderly neighbor carry her groceries into her kitchen. When I finished, she sighed and said, "You're such a sweet girl. It's just a shame about your face." FML
Falling
Today, I treated myself to an hour long massage. Halfway through, I mumbled, “Thank you” to the masseuse and, without thinking, added, “I love you.” There was a long pause. Then she patted my head and whispered, “You’re welcome.” FML
Tipping point
Today, I helped a lady carry her grocery bags to her car. She was so grateful that she offered me a tip. I refused, but she insisted. When I finally took it, I looked at the bill to see she'd given me $1. I smiled and said thank you, but she looked at me like I’d just robbed her. FML
Panic mode
Today, I felt like doing a good deed, so when I bought something at a store I told the cashier to keep the change. The cashier then panicked and said, “What do I do???” Turns out, I was her first ever customer. FML
Today, a customer complained that one of our cashiers smiles too much. FML
A cashier's life
Today, as I worked as a cashier, two girls came up laughing. I smiled as I rang them up, asking what had made them laugh so hard. One looked me dead in the face and said, "You." They then both walked away, laughing. FML
Today, I was helping an older lady return her previously bought items to customer service. As she walked away and said "Thanks," I tried to say "You're welcome" and "No problem" at the same time. I ended up saying "Your problem". She scowled at me. FML
Delightful
Today, I got news that I had "delighted a customer" so I looked at the review online. It says, "The fat girl up front was nice." FML
Today, at work, a customer told me that my teeth would make a very pretty necklace. FML
BURN
Today, at work, I cashed out a sweet old lady. As I handed her the bag, she looked at me kindly and said, "Don’t worry sweetie. It'll get better," to which I responded, "What will get better?" She smiled at me and said, "Your face." FML

Probably because you’re so ruggedly handsome. “Cutie” is for femme-y guys.

I actually agree with this, minus the specifications. "Cute" is a far more feminine choice for attractiveness than it is masculine. You don't usually hear strangers calling a man cute, but it's a normal interaction between two women who don't know each other. I can see she meaning it in the specific choice of word rather than general appearance, but she really should've worded it better.

Now that you say it, looking back at it it did seem that way

She's absolutely right, isn't she? You probably wouldn't have posting this if it weren't.

There is a very good chance she meant it not as "you're not very attractive, so no one would call you pretty/cute/whatever," and more as "I bet people don't compliment you often, even though they should"
