Today, at the restaurant I work at, my own mom refused to give a tip and complained to my boss. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my mom told me that she doesn't want me to help any of my friends get a job at the restaurant I work at. Apparently, she thinks that they would do a better job than me and get me fired. FML
Barred for life
Today, I went to my favorite restaurant with my mother. The food took a little longer than usual to arrive and my mom threw a fit, complete with kicking and screaming, in the middle of the restaurant. My mom and I are both banned for life. FML
Brilliant
Today, my mom and I went out to a fancy and expensive restaurant per her request; she told me it was her treat. After we ate our meals and the large check came, she excused herself to the bathroom. She didn't come back. I was dine-and-dashed by my own mother. FML
Today, I went to eat with my girlfriend, her parents and my mother. My mother complained about every aspect of the service. When I told her she needed to assert herself, she took her pocketbook and hit me over the head. The whole restaurant stared at us while she yelled "Is that assertive enough?" FML
Mom of the year
Today, I went to a restaurant that I always go to, and one of the cute waiters gave me a discount. My mother called me a whore in the middle of the restaurant, then slapped me when I cried. FML
Today, I was working my shift at a fancy restaurant and it had been a really hard day. My parents came in to have dinner and surprise me. After paying, they left a note saying they would see me at home. It also said "By the way, no tip, because you stink at serving." FML
Today, while at work, a customer gave me a $20 tip. I explained to him we aren't allowed to accept tips, but he insisted. When I called the manager to report it, he pocketed my tip. FML
Today, a lady cussed me out for not bringing her salad and pizza to her table. She then wanted her money back. I work at a buffet; a self-serve buffet. FML
Customers from hell
Today, while at my job, a couple became angry with me because I charged them for an extra ranch they'd ordered, as I'm supposed to. When I explained how it says in the menu how any additional sauces are an extra charge, she said nastily, "That's okay, we'll just take it out of your tip". FML
Always tip generously
Today, I overheard a waitress calling me a cheapskate because I left a $2 tip on a $9 tab. When I told her she was ungrateful, rude, and unprofessional, she burst into tears and told the manager I’d threatened her. I was then banned from the restaurant, all while the little twat smirked. FML

How was your service? Did you assume that you didn't have to serve her like any other customer? Perhaps YDI.

She's acting like you did when she served you food as a child... Different being is that it isn't cute for an adult.

Depends on whether or not you gave bad service.

if she lives with her mom.. we don't even know if mom and op have a good relationship. ..
incoherentrmblr 22
Or if OP is male/female. I hope she doesn't complain about you not having a job if you get fired b/c of her actions...

Act like she's some crazy ass bitch. Your boss never has to know you two are related.

Or better yet, OP can give no "Thank you" or respect at the dinner table when she serves him. She can be immature at his place of work, OP can be immature at her place of work.

#17, except OP's mom doesn't have a boss, so she can snap right back unlike OP here

#17, to say that OP's mother's 'place of work' is at home serving people dinner is ridiculous. You could've just left it at 'when she serves him' and left your sexist undertone out of it while still making your point.

It's not mandatory to pay tip

3: Why would that make a difference? A customer complaining (even if they are "some crazy ass bitch") while you're serving them is more likely than not to get you in trouble. 58: No one said it was.

It's gonna be awkward when you have dinner at home.

It sounds like Mom doesn't want you to leave home, so she's gonna try and make it so you lose your job so you'll have to go and live at home again, indefinitely.

making a lot of assumptions there, aren't we?

Refusing to tip is something but not complaining to your boss.

Wow that sucks you should totally quit your mom.

Just make sure you can get a good referral when you're interviewing for a new mom.
