Today, as my friend was rudely rummaging through my phone, she saw a picture of the pottery I've painted her for Christmas. Not only did she see it, but she also declared it ugly. That's probably the present I'm the most proud of this Christmas. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, it's my girlfriend's birthday. I presented her with an oil painting of her that I'd been working on for over a month, and she started to cry. I thought it was because she liked it, until she asked if she really looks that ugly and disproportionate in real life. FML
Today, I spent the whole night and day painting a portrait of my girlfriend. Being proud of it, I sent it to her hoping she would appreciate it. I spent hours working on that picture only for her to reply with, "That's not me, is it?" FML
Today, I finished a big art project. It was a self-portrait done in acrylics. Proud of my piece, I showed my mom. After some thought her first comment was, "well, I'm either going to insult your art or your face." FML
Today, my roommate asked for my opinion of her new painting. The same painting I hand-painted for over ten hours. She apparently thought it was a gift. She won't give it back. FML
Today, I spent hours hand-painting an awesome design on a gift for a friend. My husband was supposed to assemble it when I finished, but when I stepped back to admire my work, he informed me that the whole thing was sideways. He watched me paint it. FML
Link please
Today, my wife sold her first painting and was so proud of herself, until she found the buyer online and realized his YouTube page is full of videos where he paints over horrible art and turns it into good art. Her painting was on it, and yes, he visibly improved it and yes, my wife is raging at me. FML
It's the thought that counts
Today, my toddler proudly presented me a "beautiful drawing" he'd made... on my freshly painted living room wall. When I started to scold him, he said, "But I made it for YOU, Mommy!" Now I feel guilty for being mad at Picasso Jr, and having to paint over it. FML
Today, my daughter wore my favorite Christmas sweater to an ugly sweater party. FML
Today, I won a raffle organised by a friend. I discovered one of the "prizes" was actually a present that I had given to her, that she had "loved". When I asked her where she had gotten it, she said, "Oh, just some crap someone gave me once." She didn't even remember that I had given it to her. FML
Love your art
Today, I was texting an artist friend telling her I wanted to buy her paintings; going on and on about how much I wanted it and loved the way they looked and couldn't wait to have them. I realized my phone had corrected paintings to panties. FML

Don't worry about it, OP. Your friend is uglier than your pottery, personality-wise.

It's the thought that counts. And after reading this, I thought your friend was a twat.

Well just think, now you can give that present to someone who deserves and will appreciate it, rather then an ungrateful scrote.

Either she has shitty taste or you are delusional about your artistic talent. I'm guessing the latter. Give the ugly pot as a goof, but stuff it full of weed. That's one pot she's sure to like. Give up on trying to give anyone Christmas gifts and hand out piles of cash. Gift cards make that crass exchange more palatable.

I wrap my gift cards, and put a big bow in them. But I'm just classy like that.

I put gift cards in large boxes. Sometimes along with some other small boxes to make noise if its shaken.

Tell her shes an ungrateful bitch

At least you found out beforehand how ungrateful she is. You don't have to waste a great gift on someone undeserving. People like your friend get a lump of coal in their stockings if they are lucky. Give it to someone who is more deserving of it

It was a really sweet thought and I'm sure it's beautiful pottery. She obviously doesn't deserve it, so give it to someone else or keep it yourself. When Christmas rolls around, make sure she knows she isn't getting a present and why.

You should display it proudly in your home. She's a jerk for saying that its ugly
