Today, after weeks of tirelessly organising a Secret Santa with work colleagues, we finally exchanged gifts. I got a stapler, which had been stolen from my desk the day before. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, at the office, everyone in my department swapped secret santa presents. I bought the guy whose name I picked a DVD box-set of his favorite TV series. One of my friends got a fancy make up kit. Another got a pack of posh notebooks. I got a toilet plunger. FML
Merry Christmas, I guess!
Today, we did a Secret Santa at work and instead of buying cringe romance novels and candy for this other girl, I bought her a fantasy novel and a bag of dried mangos. When I went to leave for the day, I found both of my thoughtful gifts in the trash can. FML
Not so Secret Santa
Today I volunteered to organize the office Secret Santa. I carefully tracked names, budgets and preferences. On gift day, I realized I’d emailed the spreadsheet to everyone. People now know who hates mugs, who regifted last year, and who wrote “Anything but candles.” Our Christmas spirit died pretty darned quick. FML
Today, I was at a small secret Santa with a group of friends. Everyone got each other some amazing gifts, the first person got a homemade self portrait, the second person got some professional grade playing cards, the third person got an album of past memories, and I got a pack of pens. FML
Today, my husband came home with a Christmas gift from a coworker. It's the same thing I got him. FML
Today, while joking with my coworkers about how I shouldn't be trusted with a stapler because I managed to accidentally staple my finger last week, I stapled another finger. FML
Today, I was working at the Soup Kitchen handing out special christmas dinners to the homeless. At the end of the day I collected my things and went home. It was only then I discovered that my wallet, phone, pager and (for some reason) my glasses has been stolen. FML
Today, I went to a work party where we had a Secret Santa. I gave a nice set of beer bottles with glasses. When my name was called I naturally picked the biggest gift. I got groceries. I now have dog food and men's body spray. I don't have a boyfriend or a dog. FML
Better late than never
Today, I realised that despite all my careful Christmas preparation, there is one thing I forgot to get. The gift for my wife, which I should've picked up from the shop I ordered it from. It’s sat in that shop right now at 7pm on Christmas Eve. I’m a dead man tomorrow morning. FML
Today, we got our Christmas bonuses. Instead of money, the company decided to give us all lunch boxes with the company name on them. I went ahead and put my lunch in mine, then put it in the break-room refrigerator. Apparently so did all the other employees. Now I can't find mine. FML

Office Space, anyone? "Have you seen my stapler?" Apparently someone did. :D

I guess it depends on whether it was only a gift exchange, or an entire Christmas party: all the secret santas I've been to included food and fun activities. I've organized just one with my classmates (around 30 people), and it actually took more time than you'd think to prepare (shopping, decorating, finding a date that fits for everyone who wants to participate, signing people up for a potluck, following up on what they're bringing, check for allergies, picking names, preparing "extra presents" in case there are no-shows, renting tv and movies, asking people to bring games, organizing group activities, etc). So if there's many employees (like 50+), I could easily see how organizing it could take time.

Was it your red stapler, Milton?

it must be nice having a job where you get paid to waste time on useless activities.

Such events like this usually happen during lunch breaks.

Maybe no one but you wanted to do the secret Santa thing. Ease off on the nagging.

Then they shouldn't participate. Sounds more like they wanted a gift but didn't want to even try on getting another person one.

Maybe they thought you said Secret Satan

How on earth was this an activity that took weeks to organise? The giver was probably fed up with all your time waster emails on the matter!

Wow, that's a funny jerk move lol. Still, whoever it was, should've been mature enough to get you something. Or maybe that person just doesn't like the whole secret Santa thing and decided to prank you

I'd hardly describe organising a secret Santa as tiring, all you have to do is put everyone's names in a hat and then draw them out to see who gets who
