Today, after extensively researching how to properly use in text citations out of fear of my professor reporting me for citing my quotes incorrectly. She reported me instead for forgetting quotation marks on three of my proudly and properly cited quotes. FML

Today, my classmate told me she can copy an article from the internet and hand that in, as long as she cites it at the end. FML
Today, I turned in an overdue English assignment at college. My instructor accused me of plagiarism, writing that my sentence structure was "TO" good. Seriously? FML
Today, I got cited for "internet plagiarism" and called to the dean's office. I'd been sitting a closed-book written exam, and my teacher had been breathing down my neck the whole time. FML
Today, my teacher called a friend and me out of class and told us we had been reported for plagiarism because our answers to a problem were nearly identical, and he said that I shouldn't have shared my work. This for an assignment where significant marks were awarded for collaborating with peers. FML
Today, after I took my first set of exams, my professor posted on Twitter, scoffing at how stupid one student's answer was. The answer he quoted was one that I wrote. FML
Today, out of spite, I wrote "Ms. Piggy" instead of my professor's actual name in the heading of my essay. Guess what I forgot to do before turning it in. FML
Today, I found out why my professor accused me of not handing in an important essay before the due date. Apparently she spilled coffee all over it and didn't dare to tell me. FML
Today, after a conference with my teacher who had previously accused me of not doing my homework, she finally discovered she'd been losing it all this time. I've been getting straight Fs for a month. FML
Today, my boss yelled at me for ruining the report she was supposed to write with my "terrible spelling and grammar". I've checked it thoroughly, and all of her 'corrections' are wrong. She doesn’t believe me, and is refusing to look at a dictionary. FML
Today, I realized that my Twitter profile was very public when my business professor made fun of student tweets in class. My tweet went, "Totally bullshitting this business report" about the report I'd just handed in, worth a large portion of my grade. FML

Well, to be fair, they aren't properly cited without quotation marks no matter how much time you spent on them

To be pedantic, they're "quotation marks," and not "quotations." To be less of a jerk but also to point out something relevant, block quotes do not use quotation marks. They get their own line, go one font size down, and get an extra indentation on both right and left margins.

I'm really sorry- that's rough. Unfortunately, if you didn't include quotation makes you did not in fact appropriately cite your sources. They indicate the difference between a cited quote and a cited paraphrase, which is pretty significant. I'm sorry that you got in trouble; I hope things go better in the future.

Although reporting you was a severe overreaction, if the text in question WAS a quotation, and wasn't distinguished by something else (like being formatted as a block quote), that's still technically plagiarism. This is something a lot of college level composition courses go over. If the text isn't formatted as a quote, you're presenting it as your own. The citation only sources the information given within the text. That said, if it wasn't a quote, then you're 100% in the right, and even if it was, reporting someone for academic dishonesty over that rather than just warning them or marking them down is being grotesquely punitive.
