Today, a week after moving into my new house, I'm seriously considering suing the previous occupant. He failed to mention how the neighbor has his own band and rehearses every other day until 2am. Their music is so bad, it sounds like the wailing of a cat being tortured to death. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, after my annoying neighbor who used to spend hours playing the cello in the apartment below me finally moved out, I found out that I have a new musical neighbor moving in. This fellow plays the bagpipes. FML
Today, I found out my upstairs neighbors filed a noise complaint against me for banging on the ceiling every night. They conveniently left out the part where they constantly stomp, shout, and do stuff that sounds like they're dropping bricks to the floor every night. FML
Asshats everywhere
Today, I've suffered 3 months of my neighbor blasting his music so loud, it shakes my apartment floor. None of my noise complaints are ever followed up, but the moment I give him a piece of my mind, he calls the cops, and they threaten me with jail time over a few curse words. FML
Keep it down
Today, it's the second week into my new neighbors' routine. He works nights, she works days. He likes to blast out Slayer and Napalm Death all day, she likes to drunkenly sing out of tune to Adele all night. I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown. FML
Won't You Be My Neighbor?
Today, after months of peace and quiet since January, a new family moved into the apartment below me ten minutes before I was about to go to sleep. They've been here for 30 minutes and already they're stomping and banging doors all over the place. FML
Today, I learned that my new neighbour's car alarm goes off every time a car drives by blasting loud bass. So far, it's gone off 6 times in the last hour. I can't wait until he's done moving in here, where he and his car will stay for the next year. FML
Can it, Whitney!
Today, I discovered that my neighbors had held a secret "meeting" to discuss how annoying my "constant singing" as I go about my days in my apartment. They even made a petition, with over ten signatures, asking me to "cease and desist." FML
Our house
Today, I moved into my new house. The previous occupants failed to tell me that they'd recently kicked out their crazy crackhead son, who seems to think they've paid me to pretend that they've moved out and that I'm the new owner. He wants back in. FML
Noise annoys
Today, my neighbor got a ridiculous surround sound system that sounds like Jurassic fucking Park come to life. My walls are literally shaking. I tried asking nicely for them to turn it down. They told me to fuck off, and that if I call the cops with a noise complaint, well… they know where I live. FML
Relaxing chimes
Today, my new neighbor just put up really loud wind chimes. I just got a ton of letters under my door, stating if I don't take them down, they're going to file a noise complaint with the building management. She owns her condo, I don't. FML

If it's so loud that you can hear from the next house, maybe you can call the police for a noise violation...? That's a thing, right?

Call the police! Hello, there are laws about loud noise after 10pm.

This sucks? But you would lose your case because that's not something legally that has to be disclosed. Their are things that have to be such as a sex offender loving next door or prior murder in the house, but an annoying neighbor isn't one.

If you could sue for not disclosing that you have annoying neighbors next door, many people would become rich.

And just how many cats have you witnessed being tortured to death?

Cats can be like two year olds with splinters sometimes. I expect OP has heard a cat who has their tail stepped on for lying in the walkway, or something like it, and can make the comparison. Hell, leave my orange tabby where she thinks she's been left alone and she starts yowling sorrowfully until someone talks to her and lets her know the rapture hasn't happened. When cats get upset they can either be silent or a sound effects machine.

That's between you and the neighbours, not the previous owner.

I don't think your suing idea would work, the previous occupants didn't have to include that detail... But what you can do is ask them politely to turn down the volume. Try to compromise. If that doesn't work, call police on the basis of "disturbing the peace".

Good news is that there are laws in almost every city/town that state what time you can/cannot make that type of noise. The bad news is, you will have to let your neighbor know and then follow up with the police if your neighbor continues.

Find out when they sleep then get to work with a vuvuzela. It should take about 2 days tops. They'll be wanting to come to an agreement.

Have your lawyer state the precedent of tentacles vs squarepants. It regarded bothersome neighbors.
