Today, a child was choking in the store I work at. He was alone in the aisle, so I started the Heimlich without his parents' permission. After dislodging what was caught, his mother turned the corner and went screaming to my manager for touching her kid. I got a write up. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was working the register at a local grocery store. A kid about 5 years old was having trouble zipping his jacket. I reached out to help him and he started screaming "No bad touch bad touch!" and kicked me in the knee. Everyone looked. FML
Thanks…
Today, I had a violent coughing fit while at the store, which caused a lady to think I was choking, grab me from behind and start doing the Heimlich maneuver incorrectly. She broke two of my ribs. FML
Today, at my job working retail, I had just finished cleaning and straightening a whole aisle. This kid watched me do the whole thing. When I was done, he stuck his arm out, and ran it down the whole shelf, knocking everything off it. His mother just grabbed his hand and walked away. FML
Today, while working at my local supermarket, I found a boy lost and wandering about, so I took him to the front desk. My reward from his mother was a slap around the face and harsh words for supposedly having kidnapped him. FML
Today, while I was working at a supermarket, a kid started to cry in line because he couldn't get candy. Since we have free lollipops behind the desk, I gave him one. His mom complained to my manager and said I was grooming her child. FML
Today, I stopped two little boys from spitting over a railing at the piano player two floors below in the department store I work at. Their mom complained to my boss about me. FML
Today, I was in a shopping centre when a little girl was running up and down the aisles. She started to fall over so I put my hand out to catch her. Her mother then ran up to me and screamed about me 'touching her child' so loud that everyone could hear. FML
Today, at work, we had an extremely rude customer who started cussing at us, and my coworker started cussing back. I jumped on the register to quickly bring down the line, and apologized to everyone for the scene. A secret shopper was in the line and claimed that I was rude. I got written up. FML
Today, I tripped over a kid at work. She was sitting on the floor with her legs sticking out into the walkway. Her mom caused a scene, accusing me of doing it on purpose. FML
Stranger danger
Today, I helped a 6 year-old boy who was left alone at a store to get back home. The kid's parents were grateful, but my mother cussed me out and called me stupid for helping the kid. No good dead goes unpunished. FML

For ***** Sake.1. The woman is a braindead bint who obviously has no common sense. 2. Your Manager is even more of a braindead gimp for writing you up. 3. If you work for a chain complain to head office explaining the situation, I'm sure not everyone where you works is a ******* moron.

I remember hearing "back-in-my-day" stories about how it takes a village to raise a child. But, in this case, it doesn't matter what the consequence was because the feeling you get from knowing you saved someone's life is well worth it. Even if that means getting written up.

Seems like this mother is a village idiot.

Ok. Hate to be a dick, but I'm gonna correct your grammar. You either got WROTE up, get WRITTEN up, or you are WRITING someone up. Thank you:)

No, he got "A write up" as in a formal warning for bad behavior in written form.

1. If you really hate being a dick, you wouldn't have said anything. 2. If you're going to correct grammar, don't use 'gonna' in your comment. 3. The OP isn't actually wrong in what he said. He (subject) got (verb) a write up (noun). Perfectly valid. Your comment is a three out of three fail.

With parents like that, the kid would be better off choking.

If it were my child: you would be our new best friend, and at the very least be invited over for dinner. If I were your boss: you would be employee of the year. Well done :)
