Today, I announced my first pregnancy to my family. Not to be outdone, my sister immediately announced that she "might" be getting pregnant soon. My family ended up congratulating her instead, and asked me if I would plan the baby shower. FML

Today, my attention-seeking sister-in-law came to my 20 week ultrasound and afterward, without my knowledge, took it upon herself to announce the gender to Facebook and call the entire family, telling them "we're having a boy" nullifying any need for the announcement I had spent 4 weeks planning. FML
Today, we're right now at the hospital because my sister had a miscarriage. Last night I announced on Instagram that I was going to be aunt. FML
Today, I got the official word my wife is pregnant. Her sister, who lives with us, is also pregnant. I'm stuck in an apartment with two women due in late 2012. FML
Today, I got my first big promotion at work. Excited, I shared the news with my parents. My mom responded with, "That’s nice, dear, but your sister just got engaged," and hung up to go back to celebrating with her. FML
Today, my sister went into a blind rage at me for "upstaging" her by announcing that I'm pregnant, two months after she did the same. My husband and I have been trying for two years. She's in high school and doesn't even know who the father is. FML
Today, my sister announced that she just got engaged… right as I was in the midst of giving birth to my twin daughters. The thing is, she's not actually engaged. In fact, she's single. She just couldn't stand that I was "upstaging" her and "had to think of something fast." FML

I know how you feel my sister ALWAYS have to make a situation about her or one up everyone and complain that people are always trying to make everything a competition.....she's a real bitch

tell them you would be delighted to plan the shower and ask everyone to chip in for the caterer now, so you can make the reservation. oh, and devise some tasks for them, set a date until when they have to have the gifts ready.. if some of them don't cooperate just innocently ask and flap your eyelashes: "But I thought you congratulating her was sincere?'"

If they do this again to you, just yell at them as tell them how you feel. If they all continue or tell you you're being selfish or something, say that you won't be apart of their shit anymore and jut walk out
