The sad truth

Today, on a first date with a guy, I spilled ice cream all over my pants. He bought me some more, and as I was thanking him, he said, "You've never had a guy treat you right, have you?" I said no and started crying. FML

Any boy that understands the importance of replacing ice cream is a keeper. Never let him go.

I find that very sweet, actually. You must have been embarrassed, for sure, but if he really is a "guy who treats you right" I'm sure he understood he touched a nerve with that question. Chin up, OP, maybe you found someone worth the wait!

You got into his pants on the first date! You know since he bought them

On second thought maybe it was more ice cream

You're an idiot. Please shut up now.

You're not ready for a relationship. Please see someone to help you get over the past relationships, and help you be strong and aware for your next one.

OP is more than ready for a relationship in which she is treated properly.

just because you have been mistreated in past relationships you cannot just say "see someone to help you" is beyond ignorant. I have been in an physically, and verbally abusive relationship. no one helped me get over that. I still flinch I am still over sensitive. i was abused growing up. i still struggle 21 years later

#16: Who are you to say OP isn't ready for a relationship? What an asshole thing to say.

I have to say I agree with you. No one is saying it's her fault or that she doesn't deserve a great relationship. But is there anything wrong with making sure all emotional issues from the past are resolved before going into a brand new relationship? If she was hurt bad enough in the past to start crying about it,maybe she still has some issues. And that's fine! But her future relationships will be better if she is healed emotionally.

So on this one if I hit "You deserve it" is that taken as you deserve a good guy?

It seems you are in good hands OP!

Where are all these kinda girls!

waiting for these kind of guys...

The one's who still ice dream on themselves and cry on the first date?

#60, they shouldn't be waiting for a guy. They need to find their inner healing. If they're waiting for a guy to get better with themselves, then it will never work. -from a girl

That's adorable!

That was the story of my life before I met my boyfriend

He seems like he understands you Plus be bought you ice cream, keeper
