Today, it's my birthday and my friends and I went to our favorite pub to celebrate. As I'm a little broke at the moment, they all offered to buy me birthday drinks. Which I later learned meant that they would order them for me and bring them to the table, but put everything on my tab. FML

Today, I went to dinner with friends for my birthday. During the whole thing they insisted that we get whatever we wanted and celebrate, but when the check came, they all looked at me expectantly. I just bought my friends $150 of food for my birthday present. FML
Today, I took my friends out to an expensive restaurant for my birthday treat. They had arranged for a surprise birthday cake for me which I cut, very happily, while they chanted birthday wishes. When the bill came, I discovered I was supposed to pay for my great 'surprise' cake. FML
Today, is my 21st birthday. My friends took me to a bar to celebrate, knowing I don't drink. I'm now in charge of driving my friends home after they've had an awesome night. FML
Today, my friends took me out to the most expensive restaurant in town to celebrate my promotion, we ordered everything with expensive drinks too. They 'took a smoke break' and left me with the bill. FML
Today, it was my birthday. My family usually gives me a financial gift, but didn't this time and said nothing about it. I cooked my own birthday dinner without help, then washed everyone's dishes. I got my own cake and ate it alone because they were too busy getting drunk. Nobody bothered to sing Happy Birthday either. FML
Today, it's my birthday. My wife took me to my favorite restaurant for dinner. She made me pay for my birthday dinner, along with hers. She also got me a gift card to HER favorite store. FML
Today, my friends threw me a surprise birthday party. I was genuinely surprised—and also genuinely hungover from celebrating my birthday alone the night before because they'd all told me they were busy. FML
Today, it was my 21st birthday and I invited a handful of my best friends over. They all stood me up and I drank alone in my apartment. Happy birthday to me. FML
Today, it's my birthday. My best friend called me at work and offered to take me out to lunch. When he went to pay for the meal, his card was declined so I told him not to worry and that I would pay for the birthday meal. He looked at me and said, "It's your birthday?" He was serious. FML
Today, I treated my friends to lunch at a posh restaurant because it's my birthday. While we were walking leisurely around the mall afterwards, their boyfriends showed up. I spent the next few hours walking alone behind them while they were walking hand in hand with their boyfriends. FML

i think you should invite them to a party in an old abandoned house...when they are all good and drunk light the 12, 55 gallon drums of gasoline you had stashed and burn those *******... as they run out screaming have a big sign that says "Stage One: Paybacks a Bitch"

they not ure friends they just using u for their own benefit. when u have nothing to offer they will never been seen again. i have sat with so called friends and bought rounds of drinks at $10 each then when i ran out of money they all disapeared . hence after going to ATM i didnt buy them any more drinks

This reminds me of a birthday I had once where friends wanted to "take me out to dinner"...when it came time for the bill, I learned that "taking me out to dinner" still denoted I pay for my meal.

That sucks. When I was in grade 8 or 9, this girl who hung around me and my friend (but who constantly annoyed us) said "Do you guys want an ice-cream?" I declined but my other friend said yes. So she went to the canteen and bought the ice-creams, then when she got back she said "that's a dollar fifty." My friend's like "What?? You offered to buy me an ice-cream! You don't offer to buy something for someone then ask them for the money!" Not as bad as a whole evening of drinks though.
