Today, I met my biological parents for the first time, 29 years into my life. They turned out to be two of the most pathetic people I have ever met, and the meeting ended after they asked me to lend them money because I "literally owe them my life." FML

Today, I met my biological father for the first time. He seemed to be slightly intoxicated from the outset, and less than half an hour later, he had tried to intimidate me into "loaning" him several hundred euros for reasons he wouldn't tell me. So long, "dad". FML
Today, I met my biological parents for the first time. Their justification for giving me up for adoption was that I wasn't conceived at the ideal time for them. Apparently, the ideal time was six months after the adoption, when they conceived the first of my two brothers. FML
Today, I met my biological mother for the first time. She stole my wallet. FML
Today, I met my paternal grandparents for the first time, since my dad was never in my life and my mom wouldn’t talk about him. According to them, I have at least 28 other siblings from him, and who knows how many that haven’t come forward. No wonder my mom always hated him. FML
Today, I'm 36 years-old, living with my parents, in debt. My mom always wants to solve my problems by giving me money, which she later claims as "borrowed", so now I'm highly in debt with the bank… and her. FML
Today, I tried to confront my parents with the fact that they're almost certainly going to outlive me unless I radically change my lifestyle, and that I needed their assistance to help me stay on track. I only realized after my impassioned speech that they were ignoring me the whole time. FML
Today, my mom told me that she had great news: we were going to meet my biological parents. I didn't know I was adopted. FML
Today, I found out that my parents are 28,000 dollars in debt and that my bank account has $27.17 in it. They took my money to help pay their debt. FML
Today, both my mom and dad agreed I basically ruined their life by existing. They weren’t even trying to be mean, they just casually mentioned that their lives were brilliant before me, then after I was born everything turned to shit and they’ve been miserable ever since. FML
Today, after going to my friend's house for the first time and seeing how their parents treat them, I realized that I’ve never once experienced parental love in my entire life. FML

I'm so sorry op but now you know. Be thankful that they did 2 good things. 1. They did not abort you. 2. They gave you up for adoption. Sometimes we need answers Now you have your answer. Thank them for the 2 good things they did and move on without them. If you were adopted and your Mom and Dad are still alive hug them tight and tell them you love them. The phrase "Except for the grace of God, there go I" should be said here. Good luck op.

I've met people who are as useless as the day is long, and yet their parents and grandparents are decent hardworking people whom are ashamed of such behavior. If it's any constellation, maybe you should meet your biological grandparents(assuming they're still alive) and see for yourself, and try to form some kind of relationship with them, or seek out some aunts and uncles and meet them.

I'm sorry they weren't what you wanted them to be. When I found out who my birth father was I more than disappointed. I found out he had passed two years ago and that he wasn't someone worth knowing. I'm sorry they let you down but don't let that mean anything to you. Don't waste your time or thoughts on them.

Sometimes parents will give kids up for adoption for other reasons, like they are not yet ready for children, they do not have the financial means to raise a child, or as a way to protect the child of the family is abusive.

It's easy to say and almost impossible to do, but do your best to try and forget them. That was a momentary encounter that has nothing to do with who you are as a person.
