Stuck
Today, after declining an amazing job offer that pays more than double what I make now in order to accept a promotion my boss offered me if I stayed, I asked when I would receive the promotion and pay raise. She snorted and said, "You thought I was serious about that?" FML

Should have taken the other job. I doubt your promotion would have doubled your salary

It may not be too late: check if you can still get the offer for the other job.

You can sue for that and win. Happened to me and I won

Pretty sure you can sue for that. I'd also quickly call the other job back and tell them you'll take it after all. If that doesn't work, definitely a huge FYL.

Sorry but YDI for not getting the offer to stay in writing.

Really though? You shouldn't have turned that down.

I'm a boss - call the first employer back ASAP - what I do is even after an offer I make to a potential employee is turned down by the potential candidate , I make no decisions for at least 48 hours because I have had people call back telling me they regretted turning down an offer . I know I have done the same thing when I was employed by others.
