Today, after declining an amazing job offer that pays more than double what I make now in order to accept a promotion my boss offered me if I stayed, I asked when I would receive the promotion and pay raise. She snorted and said, "You thought I was serious about that?" FML

How much do my bosses think all of that time and effort is worth? One dollar more per hour than I made before. FML

That's why you get stuff in a contract, so that when they screw you, you sue them. You should have said that you will only stay if the contract is signed before you decline the other offer.
