So, are you in or are you out?
Today, I told my long time crush, "I love you," in an elaborate way. She replied, "What an interesting perspective." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my crush and I were talking about hypothetical situations. I told her, "I love you hypothetically." She said, "I love me too." I even got rejected hypothetically. FML
Today, I went out for dinner with my crush and expressed my love for her. She responded by saying that we should know that this is the real thing, and to do so we needed to date other people and let time bring us together. FML
Today, I told my crush of two years that I love him. He responded with an, "Aww, I'm sorry." and a pity hug. FML
Today, my crush confessed their love for me, and I happily told them that I felt the same way. They looked uncomfortable, so I asked why. Apparently they'd been paid to prank me. FML
Today, I told my girlfriend I wanted to tell her something important. Coincidentally, she did too. She wanted to tell me that she thinks she's actually gay. I wanted to tell her I love her. FML
Today, I confessed my love to my crush over text. Later, she posted the message I'd sent her on Facebook and wrote "look at the pathetic man". The post had over 50 laugh reacts. FML
Today, I finally told my girlfriend of four months that I love her. Her response was, "Uh... thanks?" FML
Today, I told the woman that I've had a crush on for some time how I felt. She laughed so hard that water sprayed from her nose and hit me in the face. FML
Today, I proposed to a girl I'd been in love with for 6 years. I filled the balcony of the building where I'd first laid eyes on her with innumerable roses and, under the starlit sky, I did it. She later posted on facebook 'OMG. This geek I knew from high school did the FUNNIEST thing today'. FML
Today, I started the conversation where I intended to confess to my crush that I like her. I first asked her if she liked me. She asked me to define my terms. FML

Elaborate in what way? Sometimes you should be more direct in how you say things. She could have been confused as to what you were really saying. Unless you straight up said "I love you", in which case FYL!

Why would you even say to a crush that you love them? You don't fall in love until you've dated for a while. Don't ever tell someone you're not dating that you love them.

Maybe you weren't clear. Are you dating? Or did yoy just throw this elaborate proclamation of love at her out of the blue? Because if that's the case, I'd be shocked, and probably wouldn't have managed as nice a response as she did.

"crush" and "love" are separated by about a million miles on the feelings line. I call this a definite FML, but you definitely deserved it!

Fun fact: men tend to fall in love faster than women. Especially if you aren't even DATING, why would you tell her you love her?? That's creepy AF. Plus, the word you're going for is "infatuation". YDI.
