Today, I learned that when my girlfriend was a kid, she enjoyed torturing animals for fun. Nice to know she was lying when she said the idea of harming an animal “makes her sick to her stomach.” FML

Today, I found out that my girlfriend feeds her boogers to our dog. Sometimes she even makes her do tricks for them. FML
Today, my girlfriend left me. The reason? She sent me a link to a story online about a woman who abused her dog to the point of death and I didn’t vomit while reading it. According to her, that makes me a “heartless monster.” FML
Today, I was on a date with a girl I've been crushing on for a while. At one point we started talking about pets we'd had. I wanted to show my sensitive side, so I told her how I sadly had to get my beloved cat euthanized earlier that week, and had buried her in my backyard. Her response? "Ew." FML
Today, my vegan girlfriend openly admitted that she'd let me die if she had to choose between saving my life or an animal's. She actually seemed confused as to why that upset me. FML
Today, I found out that my new girlfriend breastfeeds her dolls. FML
Today, I went to the farm my girlfriend's parents live on. She was showing me around the barn when she picked up a tool and said, "We used this to castrate the goats… and I'll use it on you if you piss me off." FML

Today, the guy who sits next to me in my psychology class openly admitted to torturing animals as a child. It's going to be a long semester. FML
Today, I'd never quite realised how nasty my girlfriend was until she hit a kid on a zebra crossing and was more upset that her bumper was dented than the fact an 8 year-old had a broken leg. She was still blaming the kid and demanding his parents pay the damage as he was being put in the ambulance. FML
Today, I had to fake enthusiasm when my girlfriend told me she's pregnant. She has a nasty streak and I was planning to break up with her, but if I left her now everyone would think I’m the bad guy. I actually think she’s capable of killing me if she gets angry enough. FML

well this could be looked at in many different ways doesn't necessarily mean that your girlfriend is a psychopath or sociopath. first you need to figure out what her definition of torture is that can vary greatly by people, secondly find out more about her childhood situation was she being abused or neglected. in certain situations children will lash out against whatever is in front of them even if it's some poor innocent animal. so you definitely need to find out more about her past.

Maybe it makes her sick NOW. On a minor comparison, I more or less enjoyed snow as a kid, but would much rather stay inside now when possible.

Several possibilities: (1) Both statements could be true. People can change from childhood to adulthood. The person she is now is more important than what she was like as a child. (2) Someone may be trying to sabotage your relationship. They might be lying or exaggerating about her childhood. Again, what person she is now is the most important thing. Does this person have a motive to sabotage your relationship? (3) Girlfriend could possibly have psychopathic impulses but has learned to control them. I think that if this is true to a significant degree that you would probably have noticed it for yourself by now. Make your own observations and decide based on what you see and not on what someone tells you of their past as a child.

Maybe she had a moment of clarity and now it actually does make her sick. But regardless, that's a big red flag to me... anyone who could ever hurt an animal deserves to have the same thing done to them.
