Today, my daughter decided she wants to be a Pokémon for Halloween. To practice the look, she used fabric dye because she thought it would look cool on her skin. Only she decided to dress as Jynx and instead of looking cool, she looks like a racist idiot in blackface. She posted pics. FML

Today, they introduced a mega evolved form of my favorite Pokémon, but it looks like a Ku Klux Klan member. FML
Today, I dyed my hair blue because I’m cosplaying as Jinx from Arcane. My parents made me practically homeless because they associate hair dye with "wokeness" and they’re not having that shit in their house. I'm now staying with my sister. FML
Today, my sister is dressing up as a nerd for Halloween. She's using my clothes for the costume. FML
Today, our daughter was going to a cosplay event, until her dad saw the costume, or lack thereof, that she was planning to wear in public, with people taking photographs of her. He got so mad, he actually burst a blood vessel in his neck and had to go to hospital. She still went to the event. FML
Today, I bought a Halloween costume for my cat. FML
Today, I got my daughter's school pictures. Instead of smiling, she did the duck face. She's 6. FML
Today, my daughter and I were at a school carnival. At the face painting station, she sat down and asked for a kitty on her face. Next, she shoved me on a chair and whispered something into the lady's ear. I ended up with a 'black eye' by request of my own daughter. She's 4. FML
Today, I saw photos of my roommate a recent party. OK, I'll admit I'm a little dark-skinned, but was it really necessary for him to color his face in black marker so he could go as "me" for a Halloween party? FML
Today, I'd promised my daughter I’d make her costume for School Spirit Day, so I'd stayed up late hot-gluing fabric, only to now notice that I’d attached the sleeves upside down. She wore it anyway because there was no time to fix it, and I spent the day hoping no other parent would ask where I got it. FML
Today, my daughter and I went to the carnival and had our faces painted. When we returned home hours later, I realized I have a deep sunburn all around my face, except for the skin under the paint in the shape of a gecko. FML

Is there a Pokemon called "Don'tKnowSpit?" She could go as that. Maybe hang a sign around her neck so people can recognize it right off. Seriously, how old is the daughter in question? If she's very young, this would take some time to do. If she's a teenager, she's going to have a lot of explaining to do.

Sorry, I had to look up Jynx. All I can say is, of all the hundreds of Pokemon out there, your daughter chose THAT one? Blech... I mean, couldn't she have just dressed as Nicki Minaj? Really no difference between the two.

America is so screwed up. There are several reasons why people might color their skin, why does everyone assume it has to be blackface? Don't they know assuming makes an ass out of U and me?

I would assume 7-12ish for daughters age, so while embarrassing it should simply lead to a discussion about the "blackface" outcome of her attempt and another discussion to get help with such costume needs and possible issues with both when it comes to public perception... but if she is young most would laugh about it, so give her a nametag for the pokemon and tell her to wear it.

They changed Jynx's skin colour to purple well after that though. Did she get black dye, or purple, and it just looks too dark?
