Murderer!
Today, my husband got charged with felony animal cruelty, because while I was at work, he shot someone's hunting dog on our property. I'm a veterinarian. This should be great for my reputation. FML

Thanksgiving
Questions about your love life, a burnt turkey and the cousin who knows everything: Thanksgiving, a contact sport.
Today, my boyfriend was arrested and might go to prison because he shot the guy who tried to kidnap his dog. FML
Today, I found out my dog is a felon. He broke into a neighbor's house by breaking in through the screen door. He also vandalized their property by shitting on their carpet. Our neighbors are now considering suing us. FML
Today, while I was on a field trip with my son, my husband decided to get rid of our dog without asking anyone. Now I get to pick up the pieces of a broken heart, and he thinks he did nothing wrong. FML
Today, my ex-boyfriend was granted parole, community service, and “rehabilitation” for the crime of breaking into my house, kidnapping my dog and killing her while I was at work, as retaliation for me breaking up with him. FML
Today, I had to bail my drunk husband out of jail after he and his best friend tried to steal a police horse from an officer. FML
Today, while on my run, I was attacked by my neighbor's new dog. It apparently didn't like me running past their house and broke free from its chain. I now have stitches and was just told that I'm probably being taken to court for the emotional distress I caused her and the dog. FML
Today, I met my husband's coworkers, one of whom told us about how he shot pigs from a helicopter. My husband thought it was awesome. I started crying. That's just cruel. FML
Today, I learned that my husband “accidentally” let the dog out and allowed her to be eaten by an alligator because I got a male coworker, who is also a good friend of mine, a birthday present. We had an argument about our friendship, which apparently bothers him. I’d had that dog since I was a junior in high school. FML
Today, my husband and I were are fighting for custody of MY two dogs. Then I found out in court that a year into our marriage, he ran one of them over with his car and then had to get a new matching one, and didn’t tell me. He said, “I paid for it so I should keep it.” FML
Today, my ex-boyfriend tried to poison my dog, all because I cheated on him. I’m getting bitched at for “breaking his heart” and “attempting to get him in trouble.” Nobody cares what he did to my dog. FML

Are you going to keep him or are you going to rehome him?

I’ve seen several stories on reddit lately about people shooting people’s pets. What in the **** is going on with people these days?? COVID giving everyone some kind of blood lust or what? Really sorry for the poor dog. I’d be pissed at your husband not just for your reputation but for him being a total, utter unfeeling asshole. That’s a family’s pet, companion, and friend, or at least a guy’s hunting buddy. These animals have personalities, and they have personal relationships with their owners and their families. And trust me, they are ******* devastated. I hope at the very least your husband feels remorse for such an act of ******* cruelty on so many levels. And if he doesn’t, he needs professional help. RIP, doggo 😢

you chose this profession and you chose to marry him.

I read this as an “out of the blue” thing. It’s entirely possibly the husband showed no signs of animal cruelty before this happened.

no need to rehome the guy, he needs anger management and obedience training though

Why should you be held responsible for what someone else did?

I could see the media taking this and running with it, especially in a small town. Depending where you are, stuff like this often makes the news — “Local Vet’s Husband Murders Beloved Hunting Dog in Cold Blood. Animal Cruelty Charges Pending.” I was also disappointed at first read when it appeared OP was more concerned about her career than the murder, but I also know the media can take things and run with it, and they looove clickbaity headlines. Everything sucks all around. Obviously her career implications rank lower than someone losing a beloved furry family member, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t also an issue to consider.

Not all dogs are harmless though. It's possible the hunting down was aggressive towards their own animals or him. I'm not saying that's the case though, just possible.

It should be a bonding moment for you both, seeing how you both enjoy giving dogs shots. Maybe you can find someone who is a bartender for dogs and have a threesome. Yet another connotation of "shots!"

I believe the technical term is barktender. Well, in this case, it may be a bonetender.

This has Ricky Gervais energy. "Is shooting dogs funny? No, absolutely not. Is a joke about shoot having multiple meanings involving dogs funny? absolutely."

My questions are why was that dog on your property and have you had issues with said dog before? It sucks but if there were reason it's understandable.

Why is it a felony to shoot an animal on ur property? House pet or not. And Pigs are smarter than dogs, none of y’all are crying about the way we treat them….

I'm surprised this is a felony charge. Surely there has to be a point you can shoot an animal for being on your property. Pet owners have a responsibility for the behavior and wearabouts of their pets.
