Today, my boyfriend stormed out after I suggested to him that his relationship with his mother is maybe a little weird. Apparently having regular, hour-long phone discussions about your penis is a perfectly normal thing for a 23-year-old to have with his mother. FML

Today, I learned that my 29-year-old boyfriend won't stay the night at my house because he lives at home with his parents and doesn't want to have "the discussion" with his mom about me. FML

Today, my boyfriend's mum said she won't stop us from seeing each other, yet she'll only allow me to see him for 30 minutes a day, for 2 days a week, and gets mad if he sees me for any longer, because "mother knows best." FML
Today, my boyfriend and I had a fight about his parents. We're both 23-year-old university students who aren't allowed in his bedroom unless the door is completely open. Nothing he says to his parents will change this. FML

Today, I had to explain to my mother that it's inappropriate to hit on my boyfriend when his parents are over for dinner. FML
Today, during an argument between me and my boyfriend, he called for his mom. She came up and told us both off and told us to stop screaming, as if we were kids. We are both well over 30. FML

This sounds like my mother in law and brother in law. Neither of them understand boundaries. He tells her graphic details about his sex life constantly and my mother in law once gave the entire family a twenty minute long detailed explanation about her vaginal reconstruction surgeries after having my husband (the subject started with her trying to convince me to get pregnant). Then they both bitch about the other having no boundaries to my husband.

Hm........while it does seem a bit strange, I don't know if it's anything to worry about. A man having a close relationship with his mother is a good thing, I think. It means he'll probably respect other women. And yeah, maybe he had a problem with his willy and just wanted her input?
