Today, I was blocked by a girl I like. She said I was mean for not understanding why she hates when people tell her to smile. I worked as a waiter and hated when people told me to smile all the time. Yet I'm the one who doesn't understand, apparently. FML

Today, I saw the girl I like had posted a status on Facebook, saying, “I’m sick of being lonely, why don’t any guys wanna date me?! I think I’m gonna spend my life alone.” I asked her out once and she turned me down. When I commented this fact on her post proving her statement untrue, she blocked me. FML
Today, I asked a girl out. She sent me a whole list of reasons that she hated me. FML
Today, I got a bad review on my work's Facebook page. The girl said I was very rude and I should never work with the public. I was trying to flirt with her. FML
Today, I had lunch with a coworker, and after having a good talk and enjoying each others company, we got up to leave. Right before we said goodbye, she looked me right in the face and, looking legitimately confused, said, "You know, I really don't understand why no one at work likes you." FML
Today, my girlfriend sent a text asking if I think she’s pretty. I replied "Yes, of course!" She then got mad and blocked me. Turns out she'd said "petty". FML
Today, I shouldn't have told my boss that I was interested in management. She now throws any problem she doesn't want to solve at me and either gets mad when I can't work it out or takes credit when I do. FML

Today, I went out to eat at a restaurant. When the waitress saw me, she continously told me how beautiful and kind I was. Flattered, I just said thank you. Five minutes later, one of the ugliest girls I've ever seen in my life walked in. The waitress told her the same exact things she told me. FML
Today, a customer berated me and told me to stop whining because I have to work on the weekend. What did I do to deserve this? I said, "Hi, how are you doing today?" FML

Being told to smile while you're being paid to serve people is one thing; they expect it because it is your job and you are voluntarily there. Being stopped on the street while minding your business and being told you're prettier when you smile, even though you owe them nothing is different. So no, I don't think you fully understand tbh

Yeah. Men do it to pester women thinking it's somehow flirty or some shit, and like we're just supposed to stand around and look cute and aren't allowed to have a shit day because it doesn't look appealing TO THEM. It's disrespectful, misogynistic, and aggravating as shit. I'd rate it up there with being cat called.

That's not what they are getting paid to do. They are paid to take your food order, deliver said food, provide and refill drinks and clear the table. Which they barely get paid to do. They smile and act friendly to get tips. Which many people skimp on.
