Lost in the sauce
Today, I went for a lunch interview for my dream job. The interview was great and at the end, I tried to seal the deal by complimenting my future boss. I said, "You're really hardworking. Do you always work on a Saturday?" He looked at me, smiled and then wrote something down. Today's Friday. FML

Don't really see how that would effect the rest of the interview.

How do you not know what day of the week it is? Especially if you have an important appointment like a job interview.

I would get that he was offended if he was an orthodox jew, but if not there's no obvious reason why an employer should consider this tiny mistake... from my p.o.v....

Everybody makes mistakes. The fact that he smiled and there was no setup saying it was a mean smile, he probably thought it was a funny mistake. Lots of employers want people with character and quirks; depending on the job, of course. But this makes people better to work with, and if OP is hired, then they will already be closer and have a memory to laugh about.
