Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, it's my 40th birthday. I got two presents by mail: a jar of wrinkle cream from a market research company, and an ad from a funeral home. FML
Today, I realised yesterday was my 30th birthday. What made it worse is that my parents forgot, along with my other relatives and friends. No cards, no texts, no calls, no Facebook messages. Nothing. Happy 30th to me. FML
Today, my husband and kids celebrated my 50th birthday. I turned 47. FML
Today, my mom said my boobs are finally getting bigger and that I've finally hit puberty. I'll be celebrating my 31st birthday next week. FML
Today, I might have Covid and this weekend is my birthday weekend. FML
Today, it's my birthday. My wife gave me a card that read, "You made it to 36!" It's my 35th birthday. FML
Today, I'm 20 and I'm going bald. FML
Today, I found out my lifespan has been reduced by a year just because of where I was born. FML
Today, it’s Easter Sunday. I have a countdown timer on my phone for when I can retire. I checked it : only 666 days left. FML
Today, it took me longer than it should have with a bit of calculations to remember how old I am. FML

Maybe if you're lucky. The last few might not even be worth having. With Covid around, it's not a sure thing you'll get one more birthday!

Sounds like your are not happy with your life. Take a break from work and think about what you want to do. On another note, remember that in those 40 years, the first 15 are mostly being dependant on parents/studying so it's normal you can't enjiy them to their fullest. But you are 40, you got plenty of time in front of you. I wish you all the best!
