Today, I woke up to my mother telling me to sit up and get dressed because we had to go before it was too late. I had just woken up from surgery. She didn't want to be stuck in traffic. FML

Today, I'm on bed rest after a major surgery. I can walk to the bathroom but can barely raise my hands. At the hospital, my mom gave this dramatic speech of being there whenever I needed her. When I asked her to come make me breakfast, she didn’t show up til noon then complained I was in a bad mood. FML
Today, I woke up to the news that my mom's in jail. FML
Today, I had debilitating stomach cramps and told my mom, but she said she was too tired to take me to the ER. I had appendicitis. Thanks Mom. FML
Today, I had three days off work. My mom woke me up for work on all three of those days, despite my repeatedly asking her not to. When I actually had to go to work this morning, she didn't wake me up. At least I wasn't late. FML
Today, my boyfriend's bitch of a mother had surgery and now I'm expected to be her at-home nurse. I haven't been able to sit down for more than 5 minutes thanks to her and I've barely slept. FML
Today, my girlfriend woke up very early in terrible pain. I drove her to the hospital and fell asleep in the waiting area. When I woke up, my car was gone and it was 9am. She had assumed I just walked home (32 miles), so she took the car. I was the only one in the waiting area. FML
Today, our dog became ill. My mom wasted no time attending her every needs and became very distressed. When I had appendicitis a few months ago, my mom told me to “sleep it off” and a friend had to take me to the hospital. She only called once to bitch at me for “doing this on purpose to make her feel bad.” FML
Today, I woke up with chest pain. It hurt just to breathe, but my parents made me go to school anyway. We're now sitting in the emergency room. FML
Today, since I'm still recovering from my surgery and can't drive, my daughter drove me to the doctor. When I was done and walked outside, she was nowhere to be seen. Then I got a text, saying, "Sorry, I forgot I have to be somewhere." The closest bus stop to our house is miles away. FML
Today, I crawled into my mom's room to tell her my stomach was in massive pain. She ended up throwing me out of the room while spraying me with Lysol. My appendix was about to burst and I needed surgery. FML

From how bad your mother sounds, I wouldn't be surprised if she was the reason you were in surgery in the first place...

I believe hospitals keep you in for a while after surgeries anyways so your body can heal. I doubt OP was released as soon as they woke up. I'm also pretty sure the mom should have known that, whether it's common knowledge, or staff tells you in the room. Either way, I hope OP stayed in the hospital for their own safety.

I just had sinus surgery on Tuesday, getting back up after surgery wasn't easy due to the massive headache I had. glad I wasn't rushed like op because I felt awful and waited around in post op for around an hour before I felt good enough to leave

I had minor surgery once and I snapped awake half an hour after they finished and felt great and asked to go home right away and left 10 minutes later with no problems.

When they remove me a growth on my scalp, I had to go just after surgery (I wasn't asleep) with lots of blood in the hair and on the neck. I couldn't even take a shower.

So sorry op, i know the feeling of not feeling up to getting dressed after surgery. For my first (and hopfuly only) surgery it was day surgery and it took me almost 9 hours [post op] to be ready to go home. Again so sorry op that your mom didnt understand
