Today, after years of miscarriages and desperately wanting a child, I lost my temper and screamed at my sister after she announced she'd had an abortion last month. Now no one in the family will speak to me, since I referred to her adopted kids as, "Not really her children." FML

Today, my wife's sister called with a confession. My wife never wanted children, but I did, but I thought she'd miscarried the first two, so we stopped trying. Her sister confessed that she'd actually aborted them and lied to me. We picked out names for them and she aborted them. FML
Today, I miscarried my baby. My teen sister, who has autism and can’t handle being around children, congratulated me on getting my freedom back, and also on miscarrying before I got fat like our mom. I can’t even yell at her because she wouldn’t understand why I’m upset. FML
Today, all of my friends and family have ostracized me, and no one is willing to talk to me about anything, because I gave my baby up for adoption after my husband died. Nobody understands that I'm not cut out to be a single mom. FML.
Today, my eldest daughter has 'officially' removed herself from our family and will no longer communicate with any of us. Apparently it's my fault that her younger sister is having a baby before her, and she can't be part of a family that 'treats her so unfairly'. FML
Today, I had the abortion my husband and I agreed on, after multiple forms of birth control failed. His family somehow found out, and now they're all mad at us for not telling them I was ever pregnant, with a child we never wanted, and took precautions to avoid creating. FML
Today, I ran into my aunt I hadn’t seen since I was a child. My mom told me she took off and stopped speaking to everyone. After lunch, I asked her why she left. She said our whole family ostracized her for aborting her abusive husband’s baby and divorcing him instead of "making it work." FML
Today, I told my mom that having watched my sister ruin her life having kids who grew into brats with criminal records before their teens, I refused to ruin my life the same way and will be childless. I then turned to leave and they were in the doorway, my sister and her two brats. I got slapped. FML
Today, my sister who I'm being a surrogate for told me that she changed her mind and doesn't want kids anymore. It's way too late for me to have an abortion. FML
Today, six years after I gave up my newborn to my sister to raise, I finally told him I’m his real mom. In response, my sister took out a restraining order against me and blocked all forms of contact. The entire family has sided with her. FML
Today, my sister went into a blind rage at me for "upstaging" her by announcing that I'm pregnant, two months after she did the same. My husband and I have been trying for two years. She's in high school and doesn't even know who the father is. FML

Ok, I understand how badly you'd like to have a child, especially after having gone through all that. But, nothing, I repeat NOTHING, gives you the right to be that much of a bitch to your sister, nor refer to her own children like that. Those ARE your nephews/nieces. Also, did she say if the abortion had been for health reasons?

I understand the grief of what you've gone through, but there's zero excuse to attack Innocent children like that. they are your nieces and nephews and if they heard that, they'll never forget. that will be forever in the back of their head. they are her children. if she's adopted rather than carry her own and then had an abortion there's probably a reason for it

Not your body, not your business. Your sister owes you nothing. Is that why you never adopted, because you'd never view them as truly your children? Get therapy.

"Asshole" is not the right word. "Monster" seems worse, but even that is too weak. Your heartache doesn't give you the right to lash out at others. Oh, and a reminder that biology doesn't make you a parent. Teaching, loving, and caring for the child/children you raise is what matters. Your parents will be wondering where they went wrong with you. Especially since your sister turned out great.
