Today, I took my parents and 3 sisters to the airport so they could take a trip to Hawaii. I wasn't invited because they don't like my husband. They asked me to watch the dog and water the plants. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my parents invited all their kids and grandkids to join them on a vacation trip to the mountains; all their kids except me, that is. I'm not invited. But they did invite my ex-husband. And his new girlfriend. FML
Today, my parents, my two sisters and their significant others went on a vacation and dropped their children at my house without ever asking me. I'm single, live alone, and can barely make ends meet, and they know it. FML
Today, as planned, my dad confirmed that he would be flying up to visit me for the weekend. Not planned, however, was that my whiny and high-maintenance sister invited herself along too. There's no way I can dis-invite her without offending my dad. FML
Today, my parents asked me if I was sure I didn't want to join them on a family trip tomorrow with my sister. I was never invited, and unlike the rest of the family, I have a full-time job where I can't just take days off with no warning. This is how they announce most "family trips" to me. FML
Today, I had to watch my husband and kids go off on our trip to Hawaii without me because I forgot my wallet at home and couldn't afford to take a later flight. FML
Today, my sister and I were planning a trip to get away from things and visit some faraway friends. My dad then decided to insert himself into our plans. He got mad when we said no, and couldn't understand why we wanted to go by ourselves. FML
Today, my whole family called me ungrateful and my parents are threatening to ground me because I turned down an invitation to go with my extended family to Hawaii for spring break. I literally just started a new part-time job, but they won't listen. FML
Today, my parents asked me if I would dog-sit for them while they go to my ex's wedding. FML
Today, my whole family made an hour-long drive to a restaurant that's just a few minutes away from my place. I wasn't invited. FML
Today, my parents canceled our trip to Greece because my siblings were being brats. When I tried to point out that I wasn't doing anything, they just shrugged and said, "Sorry honey." FML

Without knowing all parties, hard to say who is the right. Your family may be intolerant, or husband may be genuinely difficult.

Look on the bright side, next time when you go, you'd have someone to sleep take care of your dog (assuming you have one) and plants. Hey, enjoy your time alone... That's family for you. Btw agree with #1

#13, I'm not sure how much your family likes someone should be the criterion for marrying them. Many people I know love their families a lot, but wouldn't let them be the final arbiter of whom they are going to marry

I would "forget" to feed the dogs and tell them to water their own damn plants, even though they'll be in Hawaii. But hey, that won't be your problem. ^_^

I feel ya all to well.. I was invited on a trip, then "uninvited" because they felt I needed to work instead... now they want me to watch the dog... whom, I'm highly allergic to... FML!
