Today, I took my parents and 3 sisters to the airport so they could take a trip to Hawaii. I wasn't invited because they don't like my husband. They asked me to watch the dog and water the plants. FML

Today, my parents invited all their kids and grandkids to join them on a vacation trip to the mountains; all their kids except me, that is. I'm not invited. But they did invite my ex-husband. And his new girlfriend. FML
Today, my parents, my two sisters and their significant others went on a vacation and dropped their children at my house without ever asking me. I'm single, live alone, and can barely make ends meet, and they know it. FML
Today, as planned, my dad confirmed that he would be flying up to visit me for the weekend. Not planned, however, was that my whiny and high-maintenance sister invited herself along too. There's no way I can dis-invite her without offending my dad. FML
Today, my parents asked me if I was sure I didn't want to join them on a family trip tomorrow with my sister. I was never invited, and unlike the rest of the family, I have a full-time job where I can't just take days off with no warning. This is how they announce most "family trips" to me. FML
Today, I had to watch my husband and kids go off on our trip to Hawaii without me because I forgot my wallet at home and couldn't afford to take a later flight. FML
Today, my sister and I were planning a trip to get away from things and visit some faraway friends. My dad then decided to insert himself into our plans. He got mad when we said no, and couldn't understand why we wanted to go by ourselves. FML
Today, my whole family called me ungrateful and my parents are threatening to ground me because I turned down an invitation to go with my extended family to Hawaii for spring break. I literally just started a new part-time job, but they won't listen. FML
Today, my parents asked me if I would dog-sit for them while they go to my ex's wedding. FML
Today, my whole family made an hour-long drive to a restaurant that's just a few minutes away from my place. I wasn't invited. FML
Today, my parents canceled our trip to Greece because my siblings were being brats. When I tried to point out that I wasn't doing anything, they just shrugged and said, "Sorry honey." FML

Without knowing all parties, hard to say who is the right. Your family may be intolerant, or husband may be genuinely difficult.

i like how #15 assumes that the "boyfriend" is the douchebag...are you sure it isn't the family?now, of course YOUR family is perfect, but a lot of families are bigoted and racist...so hold your tongue between your teeth (obviously just a figure of speech people T_T i realize that no one is actually talking) and don't judge people before you know the whole story

Is your husband an asshole, or is your family generally hard to please (or is it somewhere in between, e.g. the two parties just don't have meshing personalities)? I agree though, if they were blatantly leaving you out of it, they shouldn't have asked you for the ride.

What did your husband do to make them all hate him so much? Were you guys expecting your parents to pay for him as well? Do your other siblings have spouses as well? Did your parents pay for them? It's hard to comment on this without knowing all of the facts. Is that really the entire reason? It seems like it might be a tad more complex than that. Strange that you agreed to take care of their stuff...
