Today, I took my parents and 3 sisters to the airport so they could take a trip to Hawaii. I wasn't invited because they don't like my husband. They asked me to watch the dog and water the plants. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my parents invited all their kids and grandkids to join them on a vacation trip to the mountains; all their kids except me, that is. I'm not invited. But they did invite my ex-husband. And his new girlfriend. FML
Today, my parents, my two sisters and their significant others went on a vacation and dropped their children at my house without ever asking me. I'm single, live alone, and can barely make ends meet, and they know it. FML
Today, as planned, my dad confirmed that he would be flying up to visit me for the weekend. Not planned, however, was that my whiny and high-maintenance sister invited herself along too. There's no way I can dis-invite her without offending my dad. FML
Today, my parents asked me if I was sure I didn't want to join them on a family trip tomorrow with my sister. I was never invited, and unlike the rest of the family, I have a full-time job where I can't just take days off with no warning. This is how they announce most "family trips" to me. FML
Today, I had to watch my husband and kids go off on our trip to Hawaii without me because I forgot my wallet at home and couldn't afford to take a later flight. FML
Today, my sister and I were planning a trip to get away from things and visit some faraway friends. My dad then decided to insert himself into our plans. He got mad when we said no, and couldn't understand why we wanted to go by ourselves. FML
Today, my whole family called me ungrateful and my parents are threatening to ground me because I turned down an invitation to go with my extended family to Hawaii for spring break. I literally just started a new part-time job, but they won't listen. FML
Today, my parents asked me if I would dog-sit for them while they go to my ex's wedding. FML
Today, my whole family made an hour-long drive to a restaurant that's just a few minutes away from my place. I wasn't invited. FML
Today, my parents canceled our trip to Greece because my siblings were being brats. When I tried to point out that I wasn't doing anything, they just shrugged and said, "Sorry honey." FML

Without knowing all parties, hard to say who is the right. Your family may be intolerant, or husband may be genuinely difficult.

So go on a vacation with your husband. When I get married, I won't want to go on vacation with my wife's family. And I certainly wouldn't subject my wife to a vacation with my folks.

They should accept him because he is your husband and therefore family. Kill the plants!

shallow narcissistic *****. i dont even know them, thats just what i would be saying in my head, over and over. I dont generally advocate revenge, but it sure as hell would take some strong self discipline to not train the dog to piss on the furniture, kill the plants, and generally wreak havoc on the house.

If the 5 of them don't like him he's probably a dick.

"If the 5 of them don't like him he's probably a dick." Or...the fact that four of them are women who are related to each other. I know that if one person in my family doesn't like one thing about another person, they expect the entire family not to like them. It's called "group think". One person doesn't like them so other family members don't like them and there's no reasoning behind other than Sister or Mom said so. It's like that in my family. I have a Cousin-in-Law that no one seems to like even though she's nice. They don't like her because she's about 7 years younger than my cousin. He's 35 and she's 28.

Why do anything for them at all? It's obviously not a reciprocal relationship. The sooner you cut your ties, the happier you'll be.
