Hey lady, not cool!
Today, while filling out paperwork at the dermatologist's, it asked what color I would use to describe my skin tone. When the nurse saw that I chose fair, she mumbled, "Ghost is more like it." I have a severe sun allergy. FML

Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I was told to rub in my sunscreen because I looked like a ghost. I wasn't wearing any. I'm just that white. FML
Today, I went to get a double conch piercing. Afterwards, the lady asked me whether I was feeling well, because I was looking so pale. I had to explain that it's my normal skin tone. I'm just pale as fuck. FML
Today, I used sunscreen on my face. Said sunscreen was expired and I had an allergic reaction. FML
Today, I went to the store and bought some cream to help with a sunburn I'd gotten a few days ago. What's worse than having red, peeling, and painful skin? An allergic reaction on top of it. FML
Today, I'm so pale, my boss asked me whether I light up in the dark. FML
Today, I got a spray tan. The lady asked what shade I wanted to be, and joking, I said the darkest. She took it seriously. Now no one can recognize me, and I have work tomorrow. FML
Today, I discovered that when my doctor said my new medication "may cause sensitivity to sunlight" what he meant was "sit in total darkness during the day or your skin will feel like its burning off." FML
Today, I was called a wimp for getting a sunburn. FML
Today, after years of difficulty, I finally found the perfect shade of foundation that matches my ultra-pale complexion. It's called "Death Flesh." FML
Today, I went to the beach. After applying sunscreen liberally and doing my best to stay out of the sun, I came home with the worst sunburn I have ever had. I almost needed to go to the hospital. I am officially too pale to be allowed outside in summer. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?
Thanks, your FML was submitted, and will appear in the moderation queue soon!

People should always act professional and not mumble inconsiderate things about their patients/clients. I'm sorry this happened to you. I have fair skin too so I know how you feel.

I don't think Americans and Westerners in general should be so disappointed about pale skin. People in the rest of the world especially Asia usually prefer paler skin. There are even reports of discrimination in China against more brown skinned people.

asian women usually envy people with white skin. i dont think you'd ever see it in your local market, but here in the philippines you can find whitening lotions, whitening soaps, whitening bath scrub salt stuff, and salons that offer skin bleaching treatments. my wife is filipina and uses those same whitening skin products but i still think she looks prettier with tanned skin. just a westerner's opinion on that i guess, but yeah your nurse was just a douchebag to mutter anything under her breath like that.
