Hanging on in quiet desperation
Today, time is going by way too fast and I don't know what I'm even doing with my life anymore. I realized all I do is sit in bed all day and mope. I'm such a boring person. How did this happen? FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I realized that I’m just living. Nothing I want matters. Just the same repetitive thing day after day. What must I do for things to change? FML
Today, I woke up and did the same thing I do at the start of every day: lie in my bed and stare up at the ceiling for who knows how long, all while contemplating how little I've accomplished in my life. Depression sucks. FML
Today, I realized the only things I do are work and sleep. My only friends are coworkers who I make small talk with. I live alone so I’ve got nothing there either. I can’t remember the last time I felt happy, or spoke to someone. Everyday is just a blur. I have no hobbies, no goals. Getting older is so fun, right? FML
Today, I've done everything I wanted to do in life. I'm currently 27. Bored out of my fucking mind. Just call me bored. FML
Today, my depression has reached the point where I'm not sure if I'm even living anymore. Sure, I'm very much alive and able to type this, but I feel as though I'm just existing. Taking up space. Doing nothing. I can't be alone here, right? FML
Today, I once again realized that I have no idea what I am supposed to do in this life, and don't know what to do with myself. I just live because that's the easiest thing to do, and try to entertain myself while searching for meaning. The meaning to my life; what I should pursue. I've been searching for a long time. FML
Today, I realized that I could have slept all day yesterday and it would've changed nothing. I don't talk to anyone and I don't do anything. My presence or lack of presence in this world means nothing and affects nobody. FML
Today, I realised that my social anxiety, fear of people's judgment, social isolation, you name it, have got so bad that I literally have no interests. It got to such a point that I even have nothing to search up in the internet, so I just stare at an empty browser page wondering what should I do with my life. FML
Today, I realized my job is so boring that I spend most of my time trying to take a dump than actually working. FML
Today, after working 24 of the last 26 days, 12+ hour shifts in public safety, I find myself so exhausted, stressed, and depressed, that I'm literally sitting in bed, staring at the wall, waiting for my next shift. None of my hobbies or vices hold any interest for me whatsoever, and I'm being a bitch to my family. FML

There are so many worthy causes that could use your help. So many less fortunate people and animals that need volunteers. Maybe start by walking around the block every day.

I ask myself that same question every day. I wish I had an answer for you, OP.

Join QAnon. They seem like a fun bunch. You can go hunt shape-shifting lizards who harvest children's blood. No qualifications required.

Frankly, I think you need to see a therapist. You might be clinically depressed. You might have learned helplessness. You might have a physical problem. Or you might possibly have some kind of other emotional or intellectual disability. My personal bet is on depression… Depression often makes people give up on life and it makes some other people cranky and “difficult”. I’m not a psychologist or anything like that, but I have dealt with my own depression on and off for significant parts of my life. Counseling can help, but it takes a while and you have to apply what you are taught. Medication can help in a shorter term, but every antidepressant has negative side effects and they increase as you dosage increases due to tolerance issues. Ideally in a serious case both medication and counseling is used - The medication helps more at first, and then the counseling eventually enables you to get off the medication. See your doctor and ask for a referral to a psychologist or psychiatrist or counselor or go directly to one of those. If you’re in school, your school counselor might be able to steer you in the right direction.
