Great customer service, thanks!
Today, I called customer service for my phone. We talked for a while and the man was very nice to me. Too nice. Right before hanging up, he said, “Have a good day ma’am!” He was flirting the whole time and I didn’t realize it, and he didn’t that I’m a guy. FML

Take it as a compliment. I'm straight but if a gay person was finding me attractive or if a guy on the phone found me attractive by accident, I'd be happy cause it makes me feel less ugly. I know it's awkward but it feels good to know being loved is possible 😂

My voice didn’t change much when I was a teen (guy) and it was not uncommon for a stranger on the phone to assume I was my mom. I bought an inexpensive tape recorder and the first time I listen to my own voice as a teen I was horrified! My first reaction was that I should never talk again! But then after a while I got used to my own voice and came to accept it. I never developed that idealized “Johnny Cash” sort of voice, but nobody seems to confuse my voice now with a female one. If your voice genuinely bothers you, try frequently singing along with a musician who’s voice you admire. I think that eventually helps. It’s not an attempt to become a great singer but an attempt to train the sound of your voice.

The OP is saying he didn’t realize the guy was flirting with him and that that the guy flirting with him didn’t realize that OP was a guy either

Yeah that's all good, but the man thought this guy was a ma'am. Which makes it awkward, not "oh wrong sexuality" xD

What kind of customer service doesn't ask any information to confirm the customer identity before any further questions? That's weird.

"First name?" "Alex." "What's the problem, Alex?" "Computer doesn't work." Must be a woman!
